50 years ago - we recorded the album ‘A Pauper in Paradise’ at Air Studios in London…feeling nothing but gratitude to Gino and the Vannelli family for believing in me opening so many doors for a career in music. by @caseyondrums

Laura and I took a ‘bucket list’ trip to New Orleans last week and had a fantastic time….While taking in a jazz concert we were introduced to one of my favorite bassists on the planet: George Porter Jr.. George was a member of ‘The Meters’ …one of the great rhythm sections of all time.…which included drummer Ziggy Modeliste, drums, Aaron Neville keys & vocals and guitarist Leo Nocentelli. Producer Allen Toussaint’s go to band. It was a great honor to meet George. He’s still very active in the NOLA scene and has a regular hit leading a group on Monday nights at The Maple Leaf nightclub. We had a blast … feet just couldn’t stay still. Thank you George for the good music and vibes. !

Here is a short clip from a recent masterclass I did for my Brazilian friends at IP&T, Sao Paolo. I am accompanying a "play-along" audio file from my book "Berklee Jazz Drums" available on Amazon. "Chuva" is "Rain" in Portuguese. It refers back to my trip to Salvador, Bahia, Brazil....too much rain and everything floods quickly! So this is my portrayal of "ominous". Thanks to @Nando Michelin : piano and @Keala Kaumeheiwa: bass for joining me! I miss playing with my friends. Thanks for listening! @ellaaudreyart @laurascheuerell
