Just two guys from Bertie County. Different suits, same mission.

He leads the Bertie County YMCA and I lead Eustress Inc., and Saturday we stood shoulder to shoulder to host Bertie County’s Annual Let’s Talk About It Mental Health Awareness Day.

We walked it out in the morning on King Street, dressed it up at night at the Gala.

It’s home taking care of home.

Grateful for every walker, sponsor, volunteer, and family that showed up. The conversation about mental health in rural North Carolina doesn’t happen without you.

Let’s keep talking.

Some conversations fill a room. This one’s going to change a few lives.

I’m sitting down with @cortezsmith.official — actor, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and the man behind “Nuck” on Showtime’s The Chi — in Greenville at the Let’s Talk About It Mental Health Awareness Gala for a fireside chat.

No script. No surface-level. Just two men having a real conversation about therapy, healing, and breaking the silence — the kind of conversation I wish somebody had let me hear when I was younger.

🤵🏾 Formal attire — and yes, we’re paying attention.

So tell us: what are you wearing? Suit? Gown? What color?

Drop it in the comments

Next week, our fellas are about to embark on new journeys.

So it was only right that we break bread over a good meal before they leave, to let them know we have their back, we understand that it can be scary and exciting at the same time, and, most importantly, we love and believe in them. by @caseyowens

What started as a dream and just 8 campers has grown into 125+ campers, with a waiting list and a community that continues to believe in what we’re building.

For 10 years, Camp Happy has been more than a summer camp. It’s been a place where children learn, grow, laugh, make memories, and feel loved.

We envisioned this. We worked for this. We prayed for this. And through every challenge and every blessing, God has made a way. by @caseyowens
