Look how far our beautiful Liva has come! 🥹❤️
(FKA as Darla from Baldwin Park)

When Liva first arrived @rootedpawsdogtraining in Seattle, Washington, she was struggling with severe anxiety, fear-based behaviors, leash reactivity, and very little confidence.

After completing her five-week board and train with our amazing trainer Mason, her transformation has been incredible!

Liva has gained so much confidence, learned to trust, made tremendous progress with leash walking, become comfortable with crate training, and learned how to socialize with other dogs. She’s even seeking affection from new people!

Underneath all that fear is the sweetest, most affectionate girl who loves sunbathing, cuddles, playing fetch, and spending time with her people. ❤️

A little about Liva:
🐾 Husky/Shepherd mix
🐾 Up-to-date on vaccinations
🐾 Crate trained and knows basic commands
🐾 Does well with most dogs with proper introductions
🐾 Absolutely no cats
🐾 Best with patient, gentle handlers who will continue building her confidence

Liva is looking for a FOSTER or ADOPTER in the Seattle, WA area! We would love to keep her close to Mason at Rooted Paws so they can continue working together and building on all the progress she’s made.

We are SO incredibly proud of this girl. She’s come such a long way, and we’re beyond grateful to Mason for helping her find her confidence. She has truly transformed under his guidance and training. Now she just needs someone willing to give her the love, patience, and stability she deserves.

Please share and help us find Liva her person! ❤️

Rocky was rescued from Palmdale shelter at the end of June this year. After spending some time with his temporary foster in Los Angeles, he went to his long-term foster family north of San Francisco. After he warmed up to them, they found that one of his lower canine teeth is damaged so badly that the pulp is exposed. Their veterinarian confirmed this and recommended that the tooth be extracted a $3-6k quote).

After calling a dozen facilities, the cheapest quote we found in the area was ~$1900-2500.

He is currently on painkillers/anti-inflammatories, the cost of which has been added to the total fundraising goal. Rocky had over $1000 in pledges, but many were not honored and his previous fundraisers were duds, so we truly hope the community can support him now.

Any additional money raised will help cover his ongoing costs. Please donate what you can, even if it is only $1. Please also take a moment to share and wish Rocky a speedy recovery ❤️

PRESS RELEASE | Justice.gov

U.S. Attorney’s Office, Central District of California

$5,000 Reward Offered and New FBI Tip Line Launched to Catch Los Angeles Animal
Abusers
————————————————————————

LOS ANGELES - Federal law enforcement today announced a $5,000 reward and a new FBI tip line, for information leading to the successful prosecution of criminals who violate the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture (PACT) Act, a federal law that carries penalties of up to seven years in prison.
This statute, which President Trump signed into law in November 2019, criminalizes engaging in animal abuse in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce and making “animal crushing” videos that depict obscene animal abuse.
Those who have evidence against anyone suspected of breaking this law is encouraged to email the FBI at LA-
AnimalCrimesTipline@ic.fbi.gov.
Successful tips include specific evidence: photographs, videos, dates, times, locations, and a description of who is committing these crimes.
This dedicated email account will be reviewed by the Animal Abuse Task Force which was created last year and is led by federal prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Environmental Crimes and Consumer Protection Section working in partnership with the FBl, the United States Department of Agriculture Office of Inspector General, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, the Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles City Animal Control, and other state and local law enforcement officers.
This task force focuses on charging serious animal abuse crimes throughout the Central District of California, the most populous federal district in the country. The seven-county district is home to nearly 20 million residents and is comprised of the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.

BANDIT #A5801625
48.00LBS
NEUTERED
3 YRS OLD
SIBERIAN HUSKY

🚨WILL BE EUTHANIZED TODAY🚨

Behavior Notes:
(please take into consideration that many dogs will be extremely scared and defensive and during a behavior assessment and will not show their true self until they are in a safe environment.)

Bandit greeted the runner nicely with a loose wiggly demeanor and was easy to leash/remove from the kennel. Bandit was
taken to the catch pen and was collared/leashed with ease. He greeted the dogs at the barrier with a neutral demeanor and
was allowed into the play yard. Bandit displayed a relaxed body, open mouth pant, natural ear set, neutral tail position with a
soft wag, and soft eyes. He approached the dogs, becoming tense and hovered over them. Bandit did not escalate moving on
if the dogs did not react. He continued to explore the yard sniffing/marking various locations. Bandit approached one of the
dogs, becoming tense and appeared to challenge him. The other dog reacted with a minor scuffle ensuing. The handlers
quickly stepped in and were able to steer/separate the dogs. He gave a shake off and continued to explore the yard. Bandit
mostly kept to himself as he explored and eventually made his way towards the handlers. He solicited petting from them
becoming loose/wiggly when receiving attention. Bandit appeared more at ease around the handlers spending the remainder
of the play session amongst them. Bandit remained wary of other dogs when they approached but he did react further. Bandit
appeared to prefer to be amongst the handlers and displayed no play style at this time. Bandit could benefit from further
socialization and confidence building. Bandit is ok for public adoption medium energy level no other dogs recommended.

MANNY #A5804226
62.00LBS MALE
2 YR OLD
GERMAN SHEPHERD

🚨CAN BE EUTHANIZED AT ANY TIME🚨

Behavior Notes:
(please take into consideration that many dogs will be extremely scared and defensive and during a behavior assessment and will not show their true self until they are in a safe environment.)

Manny ran to the other side of the kennel when the runner approached. The divider was closed, and the runner moved to the
other side of the kennel. Manny was at the back of the kennel with a tense body, hunched back, concerned eyes, and a tucked
tail. He approached the front of the kennel to sniff the runner’s hand after some coaxing. He was easy to leash and remove
from the kennel, walked nicely on leash, and was easy to collar. In the catch pen, his body was neutral. He entered the yard,
and exchanged appropriate greetings with the other dogs. He roamed the yard with a neutral body, and eventually engaged in
play with a playful female dog. He was tolerant of the other males, but did not attempt to play with them. Manny is tolerant
of the other dogs, has a medium energy level, and prefers a gentle/dainty playstyle.
