Since losing my mom, I’ve tried to be more intentional about remembering and sharing the moments that shaped me and that I shared with her. This week marks 12 years since I summited Mt. Everest. I was just 20, guided by the incredible Kami Rita Sherpa. But what most people don’t know is that my mom sent me off by trekking with me all the way to Everest Base Camp. And when we got there, she didn’t want to turn around - not because she couldn’t bear to leave me, but because she hated backing down from a challenge. She half-joked she might just stay and climb it herself. I’m so grateful I got to share that adventure with her - and that she and my dad gave me the chance to take on Everest at all. Here’s to many more big adventures ahead! 🏔️🩶

2:54:22.
A new marathon PR, and a big one.
There were times I genuinely thought I might never break 3 hours in the marathon. That maybe I didn’t have it in me - or that I’d missed my window.
But on a quiet course in Ojai, surrounded by the people I love - each of them pursuing and achieving their own incredible goals - I finally did it.
