🐝 B U B S the B E E 🐝

I’m so excited to share my first ever pattern - Bubs the bee! Just like my business name, he’s named after one of the (many) nicknames I call my kids.

Sure there are plenty of bee patterns, but I came up with Bubs because there were some things I wanted in a bee - no sew wings with definition, cleaner color changes, a stinger, and the perfect handheld size!

I hope you enjoy making Bubs and please tag me in your creations! (If you prefer a PDF of the pattern it’s available on my Etsy!)

Meet me, Shannon!

There’s almost 500 of you so I figured I would introduce myself! I’m a mom of two little boys (currently 1 and 3) and our rescue dog, Tucker. I’m originally from Florida ☀️ (and attended UCF - Go Knights!), moved to DC 🏛️ and now live in Massachusetts 🌲

I started crocheting about two years ago, paused for a bit (two kids 🤪) and picked my hook back up in November 2024 - and haven’t stopped since!

During the week I work full time in health nonprofit communications. Between work and being a mom, I squeeze in my crochet time in the early morning 🌅 and after bedtime 💤.

Whenever I make this little guy, I fall in love all over again! And this one is extra snuggly 🥰

Fun Fact - When we visited the San Diego zoo (years ago) there was a pregnant giraffe that the zookeeper said would “give birth any day now.” About an hour or so later we went by the exhibit and…she was giving birth 😅

Not sure it gets much better than this. Fall breezes, an afternoon in New York City and a Winnie the Pooh on my crochet hook 😌🍂

Have you ever crocheted in public before?

Early in my crochet journey I was nervous to. Sure it can be a little inconvenient juggling yarn and all your tools (scissors, darning needles, etc.), but it’s so nice to take your projects to a new setting. I had a 24 hour work trip to NYC and maybe packed more yarn (a lot more) than clothes 🤭 While making this Pooh I had two lovely people come up to me to ask what I was making. Two connections I wouldn’t have made otherwise!
