What a week! More than 50 concerts. 75 incredible musicians. Countless premieres and a suitcase full of precious memories to take home from the island.
After 25 years of Schiermonnikoog Festival, every edition still feels as special as the very first one. That’s the magic of this island, the music, and the people who bring it all to life. Already looking forward to 2027! Can’t wait to work with our amazing team on two more editions! ❤️ Wonderful pictures by Melle Meivogel by @casparvos

Last week, I had the pleasure of diving into the incredible world of Stravinsky together with @francisvanbroekhuizen, @baswiegers and @orkestphion . What a joy it was to perform six concerts in some of the most beautiful concert halls in the Netherlands.

A huge thank you to @jorisnassenstein for creating this wonderful show. Thank you @wimruitenbeek for the invitation to perform with your fantastic orchestra. And another big thanks to @francisvanbroekhuizen for gifting me the beautiful painting she made of Stravinsky. He’s watching me now when I’m studying. “Till the end my dear!” by @casparvos

29 mei 1913: Stravinsky zette de kunstwereld op z’n kop met de première van Le Sacre du Printemps in Parijs.

29 mei 2026: precies 113 jaar later brengt Orkest Phion o.l.v. @baswiegers dit baanbrekende moment opnieuw tot leven in Enschede, samen met @francisvanbroekhuizen & @casparvos. Je hoort de muziek door de oren van toen en voelt de impact van kunst die alles verandert.

Ben jij erbij? Verder nog te zien in…
Amsterdam - 28 mei
Apeldoorn - 30 mei
Nijmegen - 31 mei

Very proud to present the full programme for the 25th autumn edition of the Schiermonnikoog Festival! I truly could not be more excited to share it with all of you. 🌊🎻🍂

Every year, we try to create something that goes beyond a traditional chamber music festival. On this small island in the north of the Netherlands, audiences are invited to step into unknown musical worlds: forgotten masterpieces, rarely performed chamber music, unexpected combinations and musicians of the very highest level bringing these works to life, often in Dutch premieres!

As a festival, we passionately believe there is still so much extraordinary music waiting to be discovered. Music history is far bigger, richer and more adventurous than the standard repertoire we usually encounter in concert halls. And that is exactly what makes Schiermonnikoog so special. ❤️

What I admire most about our audience is their trust. Coming to this festival means embracing curiosity. It means allowing yourself to hear music you may never have heard of before and trusting us that it will move you, surprise you, perhaps even change the way you listen.

We tell our audience every year: “Come with us. You may not know everything you are about to hear, but we promise it will be unforgettable.” And somehow, that leap of faith creates magic every single time. ✨

You arrive on the island for a few days… and leave feeling as though an entirely new musical universe has opened up before you. I can genuinely guarantee: once you make the crossing to Schiermonnikoog for the first time, you will want to come back every single year. ⛴️

Hope to see many of you on the island next autumn 🙏
