It's been two years to the day since I lost Saphira, and I'm not ashamed to say I haven't moved on from her even a little. I'm thankful for the friends and opportunities that have arisen since I decided to move to Pittsburgh half a year after her passing, and I'm thankful for those that honored her memory through their art and photography. It has not been easy to press on, for a lot of reasons, but more than anything I know she would want me to keep going forward, show her my dreams, and accept love from those who care about me no matter how scary it can be to do so. Today I had to finally say "until I see you again" to my best friend in the whole wide world. Hard to believe it's been 14 years since you came to us out of the cornfield as a scared stray, but I could not have made it as far as I have without you in my life. Thank you for being there for me for so long, for fighting as long as you did to be there for me, and I promise I will find you again somewhere, some day in the stars. It's been one of the greatest weeks of my life to say the least. Shout out to @wiisportspro @spaaaghettification @bolbi_stroganovski_ for always making it a good time to be home. Between doing the live @createandcremateband set and big @galaxyconraleigh this trip has been the first time I put myself out there in awhile and it felt great to just be me. Best moment of the whole trip was meeting @sarah_natochenny Thank you for all that you do, and for touching my life in a way I could never repay you for 🙏

It's hard not to stay tired when you spend half of every day working and trying not to give up, and the rest of the day recovering and trying to find reasons not to give up tomorrow. I'm not trying to complain or ask for pity, just wanted to make sure everyone knows that I'm still doing my best. I've given up the vices that once held me, including but not limited to self harm, substance abuse, and violence. I cannot say that I'm well at this point in my life, but I'm better than I was by a lot. Keep on keeping on is all we can do. by @casper.garner
