Hi 👋 I’m Casper van der Ree... a few years ago my life looked very different…

Here is how i went from a student looking for more through side hustles to time and location freedom!

At one point, I had a $70K/month ecom business, but Within months it collapsed.
💸 Ad accounts banned
💔 Friendships lost
😓 Burned out, broke, and back in Amsterdam with only $7K left

I spent years making videos nobody watched.

Wrong niches. Scripts that lost people in ten seconds. Thumbnails I threw together at the end. I’d upload, panic, delete, re-post, and then blame the algorithm.

The thing nobody told me at 26 is that faceless YouTube isn’t a content game….it’s a system. Pick a market that actually wants something. Write for retention, not for topics. Make the thumbnail earn the click. Post consistently, read the data, and fix one thing at a time.

That’s the whole difference between the channels that died and the ones that finally paid me.

It took me until 30 to run it properly. It shouldn’t take you that long.

I started 5 different businesses before I turned 30. T-shirts. An agency. Dropshipping. Ecommerce. Faceless YouTube.

Most of them lost money. One of them made 70k a month…and I still felt stuck.

What nobody told me at 23 is that the scoreboard I was using was wrong. I thought the goal was revenue, so I kept chasing the next thing, quitting right before anything compounded, and feeling further behind every year everyone else looked settled.

I used to game and binge Netflix for hours every night after work.

It felt like a break, but I’d go to bed feeling emptier than when I started… like the days were just stacking up and going nowhere.

At some point it clicked: I wasn’t tired, I was numb.

So I started giving those same hours to something that gave back instead of taking.

One hour a night. learning, then quietly building a faceless YouTube channel. Same couch, same time, completely different direction.

Those hours compounded. They turned into a business, and eventually a life in Bali I actually chose.

The wild part isn’t that I found more time…it’s that the time was always there. I was just spending it on things I couldn’t feel the next morning.

If you want to build a life you actually dictate, you have to take things into your own hands 👇🏼

I failed my graduation exam in 2015 and watched everyone leave for college without me.

I quit university the year after, too embarrassed to tell anyone. For a while I really believed I’d been left behind.
I hadn’t. I’d just started before I found my own path.

So I stopped waiting and looked for a way to make money online. I built faceless YouTube channels and committed to one system…my 5M:
1) Mindset — stop feeling behind 2) Fundamentals — learn how it actually works 3) Niche Research — find a market with real profit potential  4) Video Production — script, voice, edit  5) Monetize & Scale — build a team that runs it

It wasn’t overnight. I lost money, I started over, I kept going.

But I graduated my bachelor’s while running a $20k/month business I built from $0…no job, no master’s, a portfolio of faceless channels, and a one-way ticket to Bali.

For years I thought I was falling behind…

Everyone seemed to have it figured out,the degree, the plan, the straight line up. I quit my first study at 23 with no idea if it would work.

Then came the messy part nobody posts about.

Five businesses in seven years. T-shirts, an agency, dropshipping, ecommerce. Some lost money. One even hit 70k months. And I still hadn’t found the thing I was actually looking for.

It took until 30 to understand it was never about the money.

It was about waking up on my own schedule.

Surfing before I open my laptop. Building a life that’s mine.

You’re not behind. You’re just not living on someone else’s timeline.

The first time I stood up on a surfboard in Bali, I was barely out of my teens…

and I didn’t know it yet, but that was the day the normal path quietly lost me.

For a few weeks everything felt open. No set alarm, no set desk, no set version of my life waiting for me.

Then I flew home, and I could feel the default closing back in, finish the studies, get the job, do the same day until you retire. But I’d already felt the other thing.

Once you feel free, you can’t un-feel it.
That feeling was the compass through every failed attempt after it. Not the money…

I lost most of that more than once. It was the memory of standing in that water thinking this is what my life is supposed to feel like.

Now I surf every morning before I open my laptop. And the part that still gets me: it’s not about how much I make. Some months are good, some aren’t…

the freedom doesn’t move. That was always the real goal. The income was just what let me protect it.
Turns out I wasn’t chasing a business.

I was chasing that first morning in the water, every day, for the rest of my life. 🌊

I spent over €30,000 on courses before anything worked. Here’s what it actually bought me 👇

Five dropshipping courses. An SMMA course. €15k in coaching. YouTube automation courses. And over €20k testing stores, ads and channels. For the longest time, all that money bought me… nothing. Not a single euro back. I just kept buying the next course, convinced the next one held the secret…and slowly started believing I was the problem.

Here’s what I couldn’t see back then: I wasn’t failing because I bought courses. I was failing because I kept jumping. A new hustle every time the last one got hard — dropshipping, SMMA, crypto, the next shiny thing. I never gave a single one long enough to actually work. The courses weren’t the mistake. The hopping was.

You might look at €30,000 and see money wasted. I see tuition. Because it finally taught me the one lesson that changed everything: no course is going to save you. The moment I stopped hopping and committed to ONE thing is the moment it started to work. So if you’re pouring money and time in and nothing’s clicking yet…you’re probably not the problem. You just haven’t stuck with one thing long enough.

Same failure. Two completely different outcomes 👇

Everyone treats a flop like a verdict. Your launch dies, your idea goes nowhere, months of work make nothing...

and the first thing you think is "I'm not cut out for this,maybe I'm just not built to run a business."

That's the employee lens: failure means you failed.

And it's exactly why most people quit before they ever make it...

not because they can't do it, but because they take every setback personally.

The shift that changed everything for me wasn't a new tactic

it was learning to read failure as feedback. A flopped launch isn't proof you're not cut out for this.

It's data: that offer didn't land, there's no demand for that idea, that approach didn't work.

The moment I stopped seeing setbacks as a judgment on me and started seeing them as instructions, I stopped hiding from them and started fixing them.

Same failures. Completely different result. Nothing about the situation changed..

only what I chose to see.

The employee runs from the flop; the owner studies it and keeps building. If you're building something right now and it's not working yet, you're not broken.

you're just collecting the exact feedback you need. Keep going.
