Congratulations Dr. Tamara Meyli Pickett Smith!!! You did it @tamtaastic ! What a journey this was for you! You had countless late nights writing papers. You managed getting your doctorate while juggling a full time executive role and being a present wife and mother. To say God was on your side is an understatement! This past Monday, I had the incredible honor of witnessing the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice as my wife successfully defended her dissertation, completing the requirements for her DrPH at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.
I’m still in awe of all that she has accomplished. Balancing life as a devoted mother, a loving wife, and a full-time professional while pursuing a doctorate is nothing short of extraordinary. Her resilience, discipline, and faith have been inspiring to watch every step of the way.
The boys and I couldn’t be more proud of her. This achievement is so well deserved.

Today marks 15 years of marriage to my beautiful wife, @tamtaastic ! If you would have told both of us in college, we would be married for 15 years, have two amazing, intelligent and funny sons or anything else we’ve accomplished, had to go through or whatever, we would have laughed and said you’re lying 😆! But who can understand the mind of God? We weren’t living by His Spirit then to understand Him, but as we walk our faith out in Him, we can now see and understand that us being together was and is His will and it pleases Him. I am so grateful to know God has blessed me with what He thought was His best for me. Don’t get it confused. NO person, relationship or marriage is without the lowest of lows or the highest of highs, BUT if YOU can CHOOSE to be INTENTIONAL, STEADFAST, DETERMINED, TRUSTING in Gods process, VULNERABLE, give GRACE, be LOVING and FORGIVING, and CHOOSE to have the right/Godly PERSPECTIVE, with these as your FOUNDATION and knowing that in our weakness we are made strong in Him (2 Cor 12:9,10) there’s nothing you can’t go through. @tamtaastic , I pray that by Gods grace and mercy, He continue to guide our family, teach our family and prosper our family and that we will never forget by Whose Hand did all of these things. ❤️ by @cass88iel

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support our 4th Annual Haydn S. Smith Basketball Tournament, September 14, 2024! We couldn’t have done it without your love and encouragement! 🙌🏾

A special shout-out to Mayor Arroyo, Beth, and all the Council members of the Borough of Westwood, as well as retired Officer Piccinich and the Westwood Police Department for your continued support. This year, the Mayor and Council honored my father’s legacy by naming the basketball court the Haydn S. Smith Memorial Basketball Court! ❤️ What an incredible way to honor his love, commitment, and dedication to the community. We are forever thankful! ❤️

Also, a big thanks to @thetacoish , @theicecreamladynj , and @nj_airwalks for being part of this amazing event!

Lastly, thank you to all the players who participated! The Westwood Police Department, aka “The Good Guys,” took home the 🏆 for the third time out of the four years we’ve hosted this event. Maybe next year, we’ll see a new team take home the trophy?

To the Best Mother in the World! Today marks a special day in history. On this day, some few years ago, 😉 God allowed you life into this world. Unknowing of the journey that would be ahead, you put one foot in front of the other. Through the many trials and tribulations and moments of laughter and joy you endured. You’ve always been a fighter, even though you might not see or feel like you are. You give me strength each and every day, because I’ve watched you fight, endure, push forward and decide to try each day. I’m very thankful for that.
