Seeing the world through rose colored lenses isn't naive, no. It's because you've overcome. The strength it requires to see the world with beauty, even with the evil our world contains, that's a choice.

We must fight to keep Jesus as the goal. His intention over our lives is to be released from the grip of the enemy and surrender what we cannot control. There's no other way. Bitterness will eat you alive. We can trust the one who is worthy. The one who gave his life so we can live. The one who promises eternal life no matter what this life holds in store because we believe in Him.

God is good and it's an amazing thing to see beauty everywhere with a glimmer in your eye. Beauty is a thing to behold and God created it. To be beautiful brings honor to God. It's a testament to his goodness.

Maybe, just maybe you've gone through the tough things in life too. Maybe you've decided focusing on all of that and making it a reason to be miserable isn't worth it. Maybe you've decided smiling and choosing to have positive interactions with people will change your day around even though it started rough. Maybe you choose joy because you have a reason or two to be grateful. Maybe this life is worth living. Maybe we were meant to live the abundant life and not be a shell of ourselves. And maybe we're meant to protect our hearts and be real with only a select few people. And maybe it's okay to not be freaking happy all the time. Maybe we're just human beings doing our best to be genuine and show up and make life better for ourselves and those around us. Maybe it's okay to choose joy even though you've experienced hard things. Maybe it's all about what you focus on like the Seasoned Ones say. Maybe being too aware of your problems isn't going to set anyone free. Maybe there's a point to grieve and a point to truly forgive so your heart can move on. Maybe smile lines are a genuine gift from heaven, knowing you are blessed. Maybe the sparkle in your eye is something you fought to get back. Maybe you should be proud of yourself. Love you
