The element of time changed how I view this #painting. I used to cringe a bit whenever I saw it. Now, I appreciate the color and texture choices in a way that I didn’t before.

Sooooo happy to report that my husband is home and recovering from what the Infectious Disease believes was Typhus.
We are very thankful to have him home now and mending. This illness has surprised me with its’ intensity.

Apparently, Typhus was eradicated in WW2, but somehow, (warmer weather) it has made a comeback since 2017.

Another one of the #pleinair landscapes from #ghostranch #oilpainting #oldwork #newshare
Hoping Stu can come home today! He’s been in the hospital for one week now, after being sick at home a full week prior. His condition is much improved! Very thankful for the outstanding care he’s received at the Dallas VA. Literally every person we’ve had contact with has been exemplary in their roles, with genuine care.🙏🏼❤️

One of the first #pleinairpaintings I ever painted; @ Ghost Ranch, New Mexico. I have a couple more landscapes from this same week to share. One, (I always thought I disliked), but when I saw it the other day, I saw things in it that I like. Funny how that can be!!
Not long after painting this, I met my husband, Stuart, and we married the following year.
Which kind of brings me around to why I am sharing this and not something new-especially after my break…?
Since my last post, my husband was home, very, very ill (and to the doc twice) all culminating in him being admitted to the hospital last Thursday, (and where he will celebrate his birthday tomorrow 🎉🎉🎉🎉). We are very grateful for his continued progress!🙏🏼🙌❤️

Everybody knows “the Villain” wears a mask; & the second one is from my sketchbook & using my news read as part inspiration/part self-therapy. from reading the news. They are not deporting “the worst of the worst.” #lie Full stop: I would not stop peacefully for some masked person. We deserve an immigration system that treats human beings fairly, with dignity and respect. We deserve officials that do not weaponize fear. Everyone deserves transparency & due process before being deprived of our liberty. #womanartist #politicalart #immigrationart #kristinoem #myart ##departmentofhomelandsecurity #agentsofchaos #destruction #thevillains #antidemocratic

PS: I am happy to be back, but will be unable to paint for a few days. I accepted a sewing project (drapes, 8 windows ) just before leaving on vacation and now it’s time to sew! ; ) by @cassandraolip

Our Declaration of Independence is explicit: its’ prominence is meaningful and should not diminished. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Unalienable means that they are inherent to everyone and they cannot be taken away by any government. When a person violates the law, Due Process is required. The Due Process concept, in our Declaration of Independence, is defined in the 4th, 5th, 6th,8th, and 14th amendments to our Constitution. Violation of Due Process is an affront to our laws and to our Constitution. DP guarantees every person HERE, not just citizens, the right to a fair legal process and a speedy trial before any rights are taken away. These amendments prohibit excessive fines/bail, cruel and unusual punishment, the right to a lawyer and to confront any witnesses. Respecting human rights is not only morally right, it promotes our security and is in our national interest.
Most of the men sent to a foreign prison in El Salvador have no criminal record, and were not members of the gang, Tren de Aragua, and were not given a chance to contest the claims made by the U.S. government before being flown to a notorious prison in El Salvador. These deportations are wrong, period.
