Today, I have a simple writing tip. Your writing should mimic the formation of a snowflake. In the end, it will look totally different from every other snowflake in the world. That’s natural. That’s style. That’s okay. What isn’t okay is when your writing is muddled, confusing, and disorganized. Remember, every snowflake is different, but each one is always crystal clear and precise. #writingtips #revise #snowisgreat by @cassian_l_knox
Going back to one of my favorites. From the master herself, Ursula K. Le Guin’s A Wizard of Earthsea is an earth-shattering and sea-splitting masterpiece in my humble opinion. Check it out today! by @cassian_l_knox
Throwback to my 3rd grade year when I found this beauty at a Scholastic Book Fair. The Magic Thief by Sarah Prineas! I had to have it. It still brings me great joy to this day to reread it. Comment your first fantasy novel below! #firstread #fantasy by @cassian_l_knox
Revision. Revision. Revision. That is what makes great writing possible. This is your reminder today that it is okay, natural, and expected to be spending two, three, four, or more drafts revising your original work. #hardknocks #revision by @cassian_l_knox

Writing tip for all my fellow authors. Use active voice to bring life to your prose. For example, instead of saying “The novel was written by Julia” try “Julia wrote the novel.” It’s a simple change, but it does a lot of work in advancing your point. It forces you to trim down the sentence to its essence, especially when you need to emphasize the subject and what the subject is doing. Passive voice, on the other hand, tends to hide the intended subject (as in the first example sentence above). At some point today, put this to the test by changing a sentence in your writing from passive to active voice. #activevoice #revision #bettereveryday by @cassian_l_knox
