IF ONLY YOU KNEW WHAT I THINK

Lyrics At The Lake pt. 1 🌊

If Only You Knew What I Think

The fear I feel about
Sharing feelings beyond my teeth

Got me, giving more help than I receive
That’s why most of my prayers not even about me

If Only You Knew What I Think

About the many broken promises
That was given to me

4 foot 5 I was
Wide-eyed and geeked

Standing in the window
Many times my dad said
He would come get me

Excited every time I seen a car light
When it would bend that street

Knowing it wasn’t him

If Only You Knew What I Think

About the many times
Many people would disappoint me

Appoint me a king
Just to tear me down

Harden my heart
Just to tell me smile

I won’t ask twice
If you let me down

If Only You Knew What I Think

A Week Ago @thewritersroomchi hosted our new series “Lyrics On The Lake.” Chicago is in a deep need for connection through creativity, and it’s amazing to see the city respond to a space like ours. ✍🏾
