Countless hours have gone into this beautiful project, and this weekend marked Castaway’s second pop-up shop! 🌞🌊🪡

I can’t quite put into words how nerve-wracking it is to showcase your work and hope that all the time, love, and effort you’ve poured into it are worth it. But seeing how this little event turned out has left me absolutely overjoyed!

The feedback was so positive, and I loved meeting everyone, sharing stories, and connecting over our mutual love for the ocean. At the heart of this adventure is the desire to create a community of like-minded people who share the joy of salty water, creativity, and a slower way of life.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Castaway. Your encouragement means more than you know. I’ll definitely be back! 🌞🌊🪡

Sewing has become my creative outlet. A fun little hobby that slowly turned into a true passion. Merging my love for surfing with my love for creating has never felt so right. 🌊🧵

As a born-and-raised ’90s girly, I grew up watching the boys rock those iconic knee-knocker board shorts. Naturally, they became the inspiration for this creation. So I thought… why not make a comfortable, classic version for all my ladies?

It started with a little inspiration, and what better reference than the ultimate surf movie of the era: Blue Crush (2002). 💙

Ladies, I present to you…The Pipeline Bermudas. 🏄🏽‍♀️✨

A lot of people call themselves designers, but there is so much that goes into creating clothing that you may never truly understand until you go through the process yourself.

I am proud to be an artist who does the process from A to Z not simply sending inspiration photos to a large manufacturing company and approving prototypes.

Creating garments is an art form. It takes patience, time, intention, and countless hours filled with love and care. Every stitch, every adjustment, every detail carries a piece of the creator behind it. 🌞🌊🪡 by @castawayco.co

My sewing journey has finally led me to learning about swimwear. Yet another full circle moment for me. Not many people know this, but when I was younger, my dream was to work for Billabong in Australia. Instead, I found myself working in hospitality due to the lack of opportunities in the fashion industry at the time.

Taking time for myself has unexpectedly led me down such a creative path. One that now makes complete sense. Swimwear has definitely been a new challenge, but I’m so proud of how this little gem turned out. 🌞🌊 by @castawayco.co

I’m incredibly grateful to have learned two new skills in 2025: sewing and knitting. This isn’t everything I made this year, but it’s a big part of the journey I’m so proud of.

A heartfelt thank you to my grandmother for taking the time to teach me, and to everyone who encouraged and supported me through this new adventure.
