One thing about awards season has always bothered me.

We name the actors.

We celebrate the performances.

We talk about the shows.

But how often do we name the casting director?

Casting directors discover talent, champion actors, collaborate with filmmakers, and help shape the casts we celebrate. Yet outside the industry, their names are still too often missing from the conversation.

This isn’t about taking recognition away from actors, directors, writers, or anyone else.

It’s about giving credit to another creative collaborator whose work helps bring great performances to the screen.

So here’s my challenge:

The next time you post about a cast you love, name the casting director too.

Let’s make that the new standard.
