I’m sharing this not for sympathy, but for transparency, and because I know so many talented professionals in the entertainment space who are navigating the exact same waters right now.

After 23 years in the business, moving from early freelancing to holding key staff roles at multiple production companies, being laid off a year ago was a tough pivot. Navigating the shift back into full-time freelancing has been a genuine test of resilience. In many ways, it can feel like starting over, only this time, with two decades of deep industry experience, sharp execution, and a proven track record.

While I’ve been fortunate to stay consistently booked with freelance gigs over the last year, I’m now looking toward my next long-term opportunity. My natural instinct on any assignment is total immersion, giving 100% of my focus to the project and the team in front of me, often at the expense of continuous networking. That deep dedication to the work is just how I’m built.

If you’re currently working through a career transition or recalibrating in today’s market, know that you’re not alone. The landscape has shifted, but the value of experience and loyalty hasn’t. May we all find that dream gig that is fulfilling, rewarding, and stable. by @castingscott

Stop everything else you are doing, sit down, and watch this NOW! Everyday, we are using and relying upon AI more than ever. This documentary, conveys and highlights the reality of our new, and rapidly developing future. A very narrow pathway exists in front of us as to how AI may improve, or completely destroy our world, and that pathway is determined by us. The director @daniel_roher manages to completely melt your mind while expand its horizons all at the same time in a beautifully crafted and visually stimulating documentary that is the only thing you should watch today. by @castingscott
