Weekdays in October offer some of the most peaceful moments in Castle Hill Gardens. The paths are quiet, the lawns calm, and the autumn light creates beautiful pockets of warmth throughout the day, creating autumnal hues like the one shown on this splendid Acer.

Combine your visit with a comforting stop in the Tea Room where homemade soup, warm drinks and freshly baked cakes make it the perfect weekday retreat.

The Gardens are open 11am to 4pm and the Tea Room 11am to 3pm. Last ordered for lunch at 1.29 and 2.30 for hot drinks and cakes.

Pinky and Percy have been busy weaving a little mischief through the hedges, trotting along secret garden paths, inspecting roses like tiny horticultural experts, and generally behaving as though Castle Hill was built entirely for their grand adventures!

A wonderfully striking evening last night at Castle Hill. Deer Park lit up with colour and movement as the clouds rolled through, giving us one of the most dramatic skies we’ve seen this month. No filters needed, just nature putting on a show.

August at Castle Hill was pure late‑summer joy…sunshine, theatre on the lawns, hydrangeas in full colour, despite the drought, and visitors enjoying picnics throughout the gardens. Families, friends, and many charming dogs made the most of warm days and long evenings.

Open‑air performances brought adventure and magic, cream teas were devoured on sunlit tables, and the grounds felt alive with your conversations, and laughter.

Here’s to a beautiful month ahead and we look forward to welcoming you to Castle Hill.
