I haven’t slept in 3-5 business weeks.
Every late night, every random “wait what if we added THIS” idea, every last-minute detail spiral… was worth it the second I saw your faces in that room.

The joy. The laughter. The full main character energy you all brought to the red carpet.

Jac and Jess… thank you for trusting me and letting me fully run with this theme. Casey for helping me carry every box down three flights of stairs and back up 3 flights of stairs at the venue. Katy and Jenny for stepping in when ever I needed a moment, or a bag packed or a drink refilled.

Danielle Williams… my decor partner in crime. The one who says “yes” when I say “can you spray paint 11 vases and build 160 ostrich feathers 🤷🏻‍♀️” You’re one of the good ones!! Monika and Jen for your iconic images that will make up most my posts for the next trillion days.

Happy 23rd Birthday 😂😂 Here’s to 23 glorious years of shenanigans. From random college roomies to future roomies in the nursing home.

Somewhere in the first day we met, “roommate” became best friend, family, co-conspirator, hype woman, voice of reason… and occasionally the reason we need one.

God knew I needed you… He just didn’t warn anyone else. 😂

There are people who love you exactly as you are, and then there are the rare ones who somehow make you want to become more, while also being fully prepared to participate in whatever questionable adventure you suggest next.

Through every version of life, every ridiculous idea, every hard season, every belly laugh, and every “okay but hear me out…” you’ve been there.

And maybe that’s my favorite part of all:

The version of me that exists around you and because of you is my favorite.

Here’s to whatever we build, break, survive, laugh about, pray through, and eventually forget together in our custom-built nursing home. 😂

Day 6 in Guatemala 🇬🇹🤍

What a way to spend our final full day.

On the eve of Guatemala’s Independence Day, we visited a local school to share the Word, love on some incredible kids, and have a whole lot of fun while doing it.

The day ended with a Guatemalan spa experience, a jump in the lake, s’mores by the fire, and the kind of laughter you wish you could bottle up and take home.

But one of the greatest gifts of this week has been our team. Through every challenge, change of plans, emotional moment, and long day, we stuck together like family. We encouraged each other, carried each other, laughed together, cried together, and somehow came out even closer than we started.

And then came another goodbye we weren’t ready for.

Genia, Maddy, Leigha, Daniel, Dulce, Eugenia & Lucy, thank you for welcoming us, leading us, loving us, and showing us what it looks like to serve with dirty feet and open hearts. We genuinely don’t know what life looks like without you now.

We already can’t wait to come back.

Day 5 in Guatemala 🇬🇹🤍

I shared a part of my story I once wished could get a rewrite.

We took a boat to San Lucas Tolimán to visit a women’s rehabilitation center, and this day hit especially close to home. Addiction has deeply impacted my life, and being given the opportunity to share my story was both an honor and one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

I fought through tears to get the words out, because even if only woman felt seen, understood, or reminded that her story isn’t over, then every hard word was worth it.

Later, we returned to Panajachel to explore a little more and met the incredible people behind Animo, a transitional housing program for men coming out of rehab who need a safe place to land as they rebuild their lives. They help sustain the mission through the coffee and handmade jewelry they create and sell.

Today was a reminder that recovery is not one moment, it’s a journey. It takes courage to begin, community to keep going, and people willing to believe there is still more ahead.

Day 4 in Guatemala 🇬🇹🤍

Some days leave a mark on you.

We began the morning determined to finish what we started, splitting the team so we could get the chicken done for the 21 chickens waiting for their new home and put the roof and door on their oldest son’s room. By the end of the day, what had once been an idea was real, a finished bedroom, a new business ready to begin, and a future that suddenly felt a little more possible.

But completion also meant goodbye.

As Juana and Pedro shared what this week had meant to their family, their gratitude was almost too much to hold. They told us they wouldn’t say goodbye forever, only until we come back.

So as the sun went down, cellphone flashlights lit the scene as we stood together and toasted with Coca-Cola while the tears came freely.

We came here to build something for this family. Somewhere along the way, they built something in us too.

There really aren’t words for a moment like this. Just gratitude. And a hope that “until we come back” comes sooner than we think. 🇬🇹🤍 taken in San Andrés Semetabaj, Solola, Guatemala by @casuallyspontaneous
