This beautiful ballad by Horace Silver was released in 1965 on the celebrated album „Song for My Father“.

Inspired by its wonderful melody, the influential critic, pianist, composer, and lyricist Leonard Feather wrote what I consider to be some of the finest lyrics of all time — for what is, arguably, the most beautiful jazz ballad ever written.

Sadly, it is played far too seldom, and sung even less frequently.

My bandmate Christoph had to persuade me for weeks to release it. We hope that the composition and lyrics bring you just as much joy as they bring us! 💓

Bildausschnitt von einem Werk der Künstlerin Annalisa. Nachname unbekannt. Weitere Ausschnitte werden folgen. taken in Saarbrooklyn by @cat.francesca
