It’s hard to believe it’s been 22 years since you passed away, and today you would have been your 43rd Birthday. Life has felt especially heavy lately without you here, and somehow, in the quiet of it all, I’ve realized even more deeply just how close we were. You weren’t only my sister; you were my best friend.
You would climb into my truck and go wherever I was headed, as long as you were with me. It didn’t matter if we were going to the beach, the mall, or Dairy Queen. The destination never mattered as much as being together. I’ve lost count of how many times I checked you out of school early. Our parents knew they had made a mistake when they put me on your list. 😂
Now it’s just me and Keenan… you know how mom is. I often wonder if you still look down on us, quietly watching over us from somewhere beyond the sky. I wish you could see your nieces and nephew. They’re so full of life, and in them, I can see the same strength and spirit that lived in you.

I miss you more than words can hold. I wish you were here, because I could use my sister right now—more than ever.
