A 2000+km road trip across the south of Morocco. The people, the food, the LANDSCAPE. I must admit I cried when I saw the arid landscape suddenly turn into desert for the first time. I was completely awestruck by the sea of sand dunes and the winding roads on mountain passes.

We stayed in a mixture of riads, tents, home stays and hostels. Let me know if you need any recommendations. I cannot wait to go back one day.

Race Across The World s6 - Recce edition (p2)

The generosity of people along the way was something I didn’t expect. I guess London life, you smile, nod, keep an eye but let people go about their lives. Here, people drove 100km out of their way to help. They called everyone they knew, went home for dinner with their wife and came back to help. We were even welcomed into an Iftar restaurant during Ramadan. A few glances from people but with our big smiles everyone relaxed and we ate incredible food in harmony. The call to pray, the coal burning stoves in Kars, the endless warming tea and can we just chat about the breakfasts!! My lord they were dreamy.

We walked across the border into Georgia and we hitched to the nearest town. Generosity hit us again with lorry drivers giving us snacks and directions. With a quick sulfur soak in the baths in Borjormi, we made it to Tbilisi! The most amazing city and by far the most populated we’d been in since Istanbul. It honestly took us a moment to get used to being around the hustle and bustle again. A trip of a lifetime.

This is just essentially a @_dimitrimichael appreciation post now.

Last spring, Dimitri met me in Heathrow not knowing where he was going, only that he was to test the route for EP3 & 4 of the latest series of RATW. We flew to Istanbul and got picked up in a jazzy taxi and started the race the next day. Budget, map, no phone. I was glued to my phone sending updates to the team and had the gorgeous @mutluyildirim8 translating and the marvellous medic Sean keeping us safe.

We didn’t expect snow at that time of year and I wore the same thermal top for 4 days, brushed my teeth in car parks and got very lost often (well Dimitri did ofc). Waking up at 5am to catch the balloons at sunrise was an incredible once in a lifetime experience. Just driving through the valley as these giants woke from their slumber and rose into the air made me speechless. The last video is us hyping ourselves up in the car park in a bus station before an overnight bus, singing ‘don’t worry, be happy’, giddy, sleepy, excited.

I’m so fortunate to have been producer on this series and still can’t quite believe it. Dream job.

$I’m fine. No but seriously I’m luckily fine. Someone skied into the back of me, wiped me out and fractured my shoulder… had to be skied off the mountain in a stretcher and it was all very dramatic. Top tip, buy the insurance with your ski pass people, made life super simple. Japan 🇯🇵 Part 3

I may have taken over 2000 photos so this is my last batch for the gram. I can’t wait to return to Japan and enjoy it as a tourist rather than working all the hours but I definitely had the most incredible peak at the inner workings of this country.

From Geisha’s to Wagyu farms, Blacksmiths in Osaka to tiny restaurants in Tokyo. All made possible thanks to @mediacoordinator for leading the best team and @ayamiishizawa for, well, everything!!!

If you see me out and about, ask me about Hiroshima. Definitely my favourite place.

Japan 🇯🇵
Part 1: I was lucky enough to spend 6 weeks in Japan earlier this year and film @channel4 ‘s newest series ‘World’s Apart’.
One of the challenges gave me the opportunity to meet and work with real life Geisha’s (or more accurately known as Geiko’s or Maiko’s). Having the opportunity to try on a kimono in a boutique in Kyoto with two women dressing me and getting to direct these incredible women who are rarely seen by the public was truly an honor. To become a Geisha (Geiko) it takes 5years of training and I feel I believably lucky to have met these amazing women.
I couldn’t have done anything without @staplgun being a complete rock and inspiration, as well as @hannah_emily_ganio another brilliantly strong woman. Girl power in Japan! ✌️
