Lay’s Stax, reminiscent of Pringles, come in a plastic tray for extra protection and convenience (yes, that is a single chip left for this post). These are smaller than the classic American Pringles and fit perfectly in the mouth in a single, satisfying bite.

The Jamon (Spanish Ham) is an exclusive Chinese flavor. It has an intense red-orange color, but surprises with a milder salty tomato-y flavor. No powder coating, no orange fingers—clean. Kind of a strange first taste, but the mildness is addicting. Not sweet and not too salty, but chip cravings satiated. 4/5⭐️

@canmaketokyo Creamy Touch Liner in 03 dark brown. This eyeliner has been a steady @at_cosme award winner in Japan. It impressed me with its ultra fine point tip (1.5mm!), strong adherence, and drugstore pricing. The waterproof formula really doesn’t smudge or transfer at all, but still glides on creamy as the name suggests making it ideal for tight lining.

Comes in many black and a few other soft neutral shades. I particularly like this shade of dark brown, which doesn’t lean too red or light—a proper dark brown.

The pencil is a twist-up which helps maintain a consistently fine tip, but it isn’t retractable, so twist sparingly!

🛒Available at most drugstores and speciality stores like @tokyuhandsinc or @loft_official for ¥715

🗒️Notes: there are many brown shades, including 02 medium brown, so be sure to check the shade number properly.

@uha_mikakuto grape gummies. The most unique gummy candy I’ve ever tried. UHA managed to recreate a grape but in gummy form, complete with the grape “skin” on the outside and a juicy inside. Biting into the gummy feels oddly similar to biting into a real grape. Warning, they are quite sweet, but if you’re in Japan, def worth a try! Japanese portions means it’s too easy to finish the entire bag in one sitting.

They make several fruit flavors, but the grape (both kororo (purple) and muscat (green)) ones are best in my opinion. Pass on the weird sponge-y mandarin flavor.

🛒Purchased at konbini for ¥158, also found at Don Quijote.

🗒️Notes: comes in several flavors including grape, peach, mandarin. look out for fun special edition designs like the last photo featuring #gundam

@muji_global pumice foam (not stone). Contains silk powder and is light as a feather. This is about as aesthetic as shaving dead skin off can get.

purchased @muji_ginza for 390¥
notes: Hard polyurethane foam. W9 x D5.5 x H2cm.

VeSS HEAD scalp point massager. Wonderfully ergonomical with its slim teardrop shape that makes it easy for palming and brushing. The teeth are long enough to pierce thick manes and satisfyingly sharp. Sensational feelings used dry or wet. I’ve tried many scalp brushes and most are too soft, heavy, hard to hold, or ineffective, but I love this one.

purchased @tokyuhandsinc for 770¥
note: the teardrop shape makes it multi-functional. check out the last photo for visuals.

I’ve never seen so many toothbrush variations as I did in Japan. This one by Sakabe caught my eye in the sea of options with its @good_design_award. Then I noticed its unique design with a curved neck, wider brush, tapered bristles and center hole all contributing to a very sensible tooth brushing experience.

purchased @tokyuhandsinc for 258¥
note: normal firmness bristles. comes in 4 colors.
