This little lady showed up right about the same time we got the news our landlady is selling the house we’ve lived in and done TNR at for 15 years. After a few encounters (and treats) she’s revealed her sweet side. It’s looking like I have one last mission here ❤️- Meowmy

We have a GoFundMe set up in our bio if you want to support our ongoing care for the cats and our big move, but a comment and a share are greatly appreciated as well

People have asked why we aren’t buying this house and the answer is simple, we can’t afford it. My husband and I both have parents that worked hard to get here and raise us in this beautiful city, but we can’t seem to continue their goal of making it permanent through home ownership

A few of you have suggested raising the ceiling on the GoFundMe to the asking price of the house. I’m tempted and also reluctant because I know life is expensive and hard for most of us. I do dream of staying here though and I want it with every fiber of my being. Crazy dreams can come true, right?

When we moved here 15 years ago, we had one cat. She had belonged to my Dad and after he passed she came to be mine. She was an indoor / outdoor cat and enjoyed her meals on the patio. Little did I know those meals were calling cats from a block over where there was an extreme cat hoarding situation. We found ourselves in a cycle of cats having kittens in their new extended territory. Quickly, we were hit with the importance of spay and neuter. It’s been a tedious, costly, at times heartbreaking , and yet mostly enjoyable beyond words learning experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything 🐾- Meowmy by @catcatcity_

Our move should wrap up next week and we will officially hand over the keys of our previous rental. We’ve moved through heat and rain and now more heat and rain are forecasted. While there are zero fall vibes, the cats and Chan are settling into their new favorite spaces and bringing the cozy vibes regardless of the unseasonable weather by @catcatcity_

Alfie’s resilience should be studied 💛- meowmy

Little man was born to a feral mom and was always interested in us as a kitten. One day while he was eating and mom wasn’t watching, I gabbed him and kissed him and we’ve been inseparable since

He was the first to move into the new house and quickly became comfortable to walk on a leash in his new yard

We are quickly settling in with all the pets and are hoping they will all pick up on Alfie’s good energy by @catcatcity_

Breaking Mews: we have our first pawtraits coming out of CATCATCITY 2.0!

Alfie and Tripitas were the first to explore the new house and they are starting to settle in. We do live on a busy street now so during the day everyone is still camping out under the bed while they get used to the sounds of the neighborhood.

In the coming days there should be a lot of collaboration posts coming through as the cats are up for it. We are incredibly behind and very thankful for all the grace given from the companies we support.

The house itself is now in working order although, there’s still a ton of things to unpack and organize.

Sweet little Alfie has lived all of his years in the same house until today. He’s doing really well (the Churu helped) and his fur sibs will begin moving in the next few days

The cats seemed really stressed out once we moved the furniture out. As soon as Alfie came to the new house he was very interested in smelling his stuff and now he’s fast asleep on the bed 💛- Meowmy & Alfie by @catcatcity_

15 years in one rental. We never had plans to move but the owner decided to sell. It’s an emotional and chaotic journey full of constant decisions. We haven’t moved the cats yet, but they are fully aware that things are changing. We also have to leave so much behind due to time, resources, logistics and space. Things were built here around the cats and their enjoyment. We are saying goodbye to their wall shelves, automatic litter boxes, large cat trees and the catios. These decisions are horrible and unfortunately necessary at this time. I feel like I’m betraying them, but we can’t move everything to our new smaller rental. I hope in time to be able to create something great for them and I hope they can handle this massive change 😭- Meowmy

Moving after 15 years in the same home is difficult, but doing it under a record breaking heatwave adds an extra layer of challenges

While I want to be settled and dressing the cats up for fall, the reality is everyone is melted and cranky. Our new house is quickly filling up with mounds of unorganized chaos. Nothing seems to fit right and there’s a lot of things to get used to

We still have to move furniture, a catio, and finally the cats all while commitments have to be met and appointments with realtors and their buyer tour our formerly happy rental home with us still halfway in it

Feeling both ready to be gone and still yearning to be here is one of the most difficult things I’ve experienced. It should cool off sometime next week and hopefully we can begin the process of getting things in order and feeling more optimistic about this next chapter 🥵- Meowmy by @catcatcity_
