I’M ON A BILLBOARD!!!😍

when i moved downtown in 2017, my very first apartment overlooked these exact billboards. i thought it was the coolest thing back then! i was 22, fresh into city life, and living in the most chaotic spot in toronto LOL

i would always stare out the window and watch the billboards, daydreaming of where life would take me. and here we are!!! 😭

thinking back to that young lost version of me is such a full circle moment. I’M UP THERE!! and being celebrated as myself. as cheyenne. and that’s a dream come true 🥹💘 taken in Sankofa Square by @catchchey

i can officially check “be in a nationwide commercial” off my lifelong goals list😭💖

i can be so quick to down play my accomplishments and say to myself “well it’s not really that big of a deal” but i’m trying my best to relish in the moment AND GIVE MYSELF MY DANG FLOWERS BECAUSE I DESERVE IT!!!!!

this appointment changed my life😩🤎

products i’ve been using for the last 3 months that i’ve been LOVING 😍

@matrix food for soft shampoo, conditioner, mask, and hair oil

my top takeaways from my appointment:

1. use the ENTIRE line of products (shampoo, conditioner, mask & oil) they’re designed to be used together! if you’re using a million different products you’re getting none of the benefits (i was guilty of this)

2. shampoo is the most important step!!! double cleanse every shower & clarify every few washes to avoid buildup

3. rinse my hair with cold water to seal in moisture. since i have high porosity hair, my hair cuticles are open meaning i need to close them in order to keep all that moisture in (this step has completely changed my hair!!)

4. low tension hair styles. high porosity hair is the most prone to breakage. no tight twists, braids or high tension hairstyles

5. using a heat cap with a hair mask can actually dry out high porosity hair. (i learned this the hard way🫠)

6. use salon quality products

7. multiple hair textures is EXTREMELY COMMON AND NORMAL!!!

i think it’s time i make things official with a curly cut next… stay tuned 👀🤭
