Years before renovation plans existed, Juliette spotted The Polished Brass Bateau through a window on the Fulham Road and promised herself she would have that bath in her next home.

That home turned out to be a remarkable 16th-century house, layered with 18th and 20th-century additions and lovingly restored over four years (while the family lived in it, certainly not for the faint-hearted).

"I kept the colour scheme as neutral as possible as the bath was, and is, the showstopper."

The master suite is anchored by Catchpole & Rye’s iconic freestanding Polished Brass Bateau with Venetian Crest, set against Farrow & Ball No. 2005 All White walls and a treasured antique mirror refinished in gold leaf.

We're delighted to reveal this montage of a recently completed principal ensuite bathroom — a truly luxurious retreat designed with both beauty and wellbeing in mind.
A steam function has been seamlessly integrated within the shower enclosure, where elegant Calacatta Oro tiles are laid in a striking herringbone pattern across the floor, complemented by larger-format tiles within the shower itself. The bespoke vanity unit, finished in a rich stained timber, discreetly conceals the steam equipment while adding warmth and sophistication to the scheme.
A muted green palette envelops the walls, ceiling and skirting boards, colour-drenching the space and creating a calm, inviting atmosphere.
And finally, we couldn't resist giving a special mention to the utterly stunning gold bath — a true statement piece and the perfect finishing touch. by @catchpoleandrye

In this luxurious bathroom, our Polished Brass Bateau serves as a radiant focal point, its golden hue beautifully glowing against the room's soft, neutral tones. Our London showrooms are dressed for Chelsea Flower Show week! And we couldn’t be happier with what we have created in collaboration with @bloominggreen to bring our vision to life so beautifully.

Hoops of dried flowers float suspended above The Verdigris Bateau and our Pyrford Vanity Units, while the La Cage Shower has its own crown of blooms. The effect is ethereal, cloud-like. Quietly extraordinary.

Copper baths are beautifully traditional, reminiscent of a time past when one bathed in front of the fire. Although lightweight, copper baths are sturdy and made entirely from high gauge copper sheeting which is then moulded into its unique bateau shape.

These illustrious bathtubs are offered in an array of stunning finishes, each one unique and skillfully hand finished in our workshops in Kent. From highly polished to aged copper, these distinctive baths are expertly finished in Catchpole & Rye’s own workshops. We provide three standard sizes; 1500mm, 1700mm and 2000mm.

Copper baths come in a number of distinct finishes including, but not limited to: copper both inside and out, antiqued copper exterior, charcoal black exterior and white enamelled interiors.
