Dear Softball,

After ten years, it’s hard to say goodbye to playing the game that’s been such a huge part of my life. You’ve given me so much more than a game. You gave me teammates who turned into family. You gave me a place to feel strong and confident. You taught me how to handle failure, how to lead, how to be coachable, and how to keep going when things get hard. You helped me become the person I am today.

Because of you, I’ve met incredible people, teammates, and coaches who believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. Thank you for the tough practices, the unforgettable wins, the lessons in failure, and the pure joy of playing.

To my parents, thank you for the endless support, sacrifices, and love. I couldn’t have done any of this without you.

Though I’ve graduated and my time on the field as a player has ended, my love for the game hasn’t. You’ll always be part of me.

Love always, #14 by @cate_144
