is empathy going extinct?
i know some of these comments may be from a bot, someone having a rough day, or “jokes” but it’s so astonishing how many comments had no empathy whatsoever. these are only a few i saw.
we are fighting a war, a spiritual war and social media is causing us to lose sense of touch, kindness, and purpose.
no one’s perfect but can’t we strive to have a little more compassion?

this has been really bothering me.
i see people getting shamed for being size 20. i see people getting shamed for being size 2.
and when someone wants to lose weight, guess what? they get shamed. you can’t ever win.

you have no idea what issues someone is struggling with. wether that’s mental or physical.
as someone fighting chronic illnesses, my body fluctuates and it took awhile but i learned to love my body and take care of it no matter what stage i’m at.
kindness is free. kindness is rare these days.
don’t put others down for being bigger than you. don’t put others down for being smaller than you.
and definitely don’t put them down when their body changes.

social media has turned into a huge competition but it doesn’t have to be. don’t be the reason someone looks in the mirror and picks themselves apart thinking they will never be enough. be the reason they look in the mirror and smile knowing that they are enough.

it’s ok if your body changes. it’s ok if you want the healthiest version of yourself.(and that can look different for different people.) in fact we should all be chasing the healthiest versions of ourselves. that is not always about losing weight.

don’t let kindness go extinct.

people will find reasons to hate no matter what size you are.

i hope you never look at someone else’s body and say “wow at least i’m not that fat.” “wow at least i’m not that thin.”
