Meet the chef behind Catering by Simon 👨‍🍳

I’m Simon, and my catering career began with an apprenticeship at St John’s College, Oxford, when I was just 15.

Since then, I’ve worked in schools, Oxford colleges, contract catering and at Jamie’s Italian Oxford, where I had the privilege of working with Jamie Oliver and Gennaro Contaldo.

Those experiences helped shape Catering by Simon: properly prepared food, generous menus, dependable service and wedding catering that feels personal rather than mass-produced.

You’ll also see me preparing canapés with my son Jack. Catering is often a genuine family effort behind the scenes—and that photograph captures it perfectly. 👨‍👦

Today we cater for weddings, private celebrations and corporate events throughout Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas.

A brilliant day at the Worton Park Wedding Fair! 💍✨

It was lovely meeting so many couples, hearing about your wedding plans and, of course, sharing a few of our homemade canapés along the way! 😋

From duck, hoisin and cucumber cups to whipped goat’s cheese crostini, prosciutto-wrapped figs and lemon tartlets with fresh raspberries — the nibbles certainly didn’t last long!
