He kissed my head as he walked out and said, “I’ll be back in a little bit. I’m going to bring Ms. Barbara to her doctor’s appointment, I don’t want her to drive in the rain” 🩷 Ms. Barbara is our 91 year old neighbor who holds on tightly to her independence, largely made possible by Billy. He brings her trash cans to the curb every Sunday and back up every Monday, closes her trunk without ever telling her it was open and makes sure she knows the time for her favorite football game. He has full, busy work weeks and is the most hands on Dad and husband you can imagine, yet still keeps a quiet eye across the street.

He brings our children over to make her day and “let’s get an extra for Ms. Barbara!” is a second nature phrase they say because of him. I could go on. He never announces his actions- but what I see is 3 little sets of eyes seeing exactly what a good heart is. He is secure, constant and steady. The whole example of what I ever could have prayed for for my kids- for our girls to know what it should be and for my son to aspire to be it. And, for me, it’s best decision I’ve ever made ☺️

As a former Teacher and now Mom of 3, there are few things I love more than a well made, super functional backpack. I’ve seen them all and truly nothing compares in quality (and cuteness!) to @statebags ✨ To be honest, I thought these would be more cute than functional- but after Eleanor used hers for a year without a mark, I was shocked by the quality and decided to make the switch for all of my kids. It’s the biggest check marked off of my list knowing they’ll walk into school feeling cool and confident with bags that will last for years to come! by @catherineparks__

5 simple things I do as a busy Mom of 3, small business owner and wife. None of these are riveting- and that’s the point! Small intentional efforts that make a difference. The hustle and bustle is at max capacity, y’all! I have to function at tip top level every single day to make sure I don’t drop any balls. And there are so so many 😆 But I know I can do it and, if I’m being honest, I love the challenge! Is it a problem that I feel the most fulfilled when I’m doing the most? Probably! But that’s not the point of this post! 😜 We’re volunteering, we’re working, we’re chauffeuring, we’re cooking and scheduling and taking care of emotional and physical needs- the list is truly endless. Still, when there’s 2 minutes to make carpool and 3 snacks need to be packed, Mom’s are most often the ones who sacrifice a need to fulfill another. It’s part of the beauty of the love we have for our families! Accumulating these 5 little habits over time has let me feel my best, make sure my personal boxes are checked to and function at my highest level. They are so simple- and that’s the point! I hope it sparks an idea of a way you can check your own boxes and potentially lighten your load. I’d LOVE to know things you do, too!! Please share!

Kidding! Kind of 🍎😜 As a former teacher, I LOVE treating my kids teachers! It can be so simple- cute paper plates, napkins, a fun printable poem & a restaurant gift card for dinner the first week of school 🍽️ I’ve done this for years and it’s always a hit! Teachers are Moms who have to go home and feed kids dinner, too, and there is no tired like the first week of school tired!! Their “back to school” starts weeks before ours!

… and our oldest is 8.5yo!! 😆🌀💫 this song put itself on the reel and it felt fitting so it stayed!

The truth is, we enjoy traveling with our kids! We truly enjoy being with them. And prefer to be! I think that culture mindset of kids being a burden is kind of strange. Especially without family in town, our logistics have always worked out that way and it’s never bothered us. But! Did we also thoroughly enjoy every free minute of these 48 hours? Pinch me!! Y’all know how much I love @caraway_home I’ve used their cookware and bakeware for years and am SO excited to partner on this reel!
