The photographer @davnesto took a portrait of this sister. “Portrait of a Sister ✝️, meet Sister Mylan. I adored my conversation with her...I loved that I could ask her questions that were challenging and she had the openness to respond. Her admitting that doubt is part of the human experience, and that’s okay struck me! Doubt will always be part, but that doesn’t take away her faith in God. You can check out more about her here @sister_mylan_fr or on her English page @sister_mylan “ 🇻🇦

Sister My-Lan Michaela is of mixed heritage, with a Vietnamese father and a Swiss German mother. Originally raised as a Buddhist, she converted to Catholicism at the age of 20. Six years after her baptism, she joined the Sisters of Saint Paul of Chartres, an international congregation founded in France in 1696. Currently, Sister My-Lan holds a leadership position within her congregation in Switzerland and is actively involved in various community projects, including fundraising and promoting Catholic education. Embracing consecrated life with the SPCs has provided Sister My-Lan with many enriching experiences—some anticipated and others pleasantly unexpected. She finds profound fulfillment in her vocation and wouldn't choose any other path.

The Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, is experiencing a massive attack on his person, his words, and his leadership as the Vicar of Christ. We read and hear words used to paint the pope in a bad light. Many miss the point of his role in the Church, and more want a political proclaimer of the Gospel to make his mark. However, this is not who or what the Holy Father is called to be.

Pope Leo not only proclaims the Gospel, but he also reminds the world of the injustices people face and how those in power are called to enact change in governance to help people thrive.

🙏 Let us stand with the Holy Father and support him in this turbulent time by praying for him, the protection of his family, and for those attacking him.

Please join me in an Our Father and Hail Mary for these intentions:

🕊️ Our Father, Who art in Heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

🕊️ Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Thank you all.
In the Eucharist we stand as One. by @catholic_truth

After the Sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene came with the other Mary to inspect the tomb. Suddenly there was a mighty earthquake, as the angel of the Lord descended from heaven. He came to the stone, rolled it back, and sat on it. In appearance he resembled a flash of lightning while his garments were dazzling as snow. The guards grew paralyzed with fear of him and fell down like dead men.

Then the angel spoke, addressing the women: “Do not be frightened. I know you are looking for Jesus the crucified, but he is not here. He has been raised, exactly as he promised. Come and see the place where he was laid. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has been raised from the dead and now goes ahead of you to Galilee, where you will see him.’ That is the message I have for you.”

They hurried away from the tomb half-overjoyed, half fearful, and ran to carry the good news to his disciples.

Suddenly, without warning, Jesus stood before them and said, “Peace!” The women came up and embraced his feet and did him homage. At this Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid! Go and carry the news to my brothers that they are to go to Galilee, where they will see me.”

🔔The real reason for the season - Happy Easter!

“Behold, Jesus Christ crucified, who is the only foundation of our hope; He is our mediator and advocate; the victim and sacrifice for our sins. He is goodness and patience itself; His mercy is moved by the tears of sinners, and he never refuses pardon and grace to those who ask it with a truly contrite and humbled heart.”

Saint Charles Borromeo 🕯️

👋🏼 Here’s a friendly reminder to not let this tremendous season of grace pass you by. February 18, 2026 the liturgical season of lent begins with Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Thursday, April 2.

“Lent is a 40 day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday. It’s a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord’s Resurrection at Easter. During Lent, we seek the Lord in prayer by reading Sacred Scripture; we serve by giving alms; and we practice self-control through fasting. We are called not only to abstain from luxuries during Lent, but to a true inner conversion of heart as we seek to follow Christ’s will more faithfully.”
-usccb.org 🕯️

As we enter into the wilderness with Jesus, the invitation is to examine our heart and see the areas of weakness and sin that hold us back from fully being in relationship with God. This looks different for everyone, but the call from God is the same.

“Even now, says the Lord,
return to me with your whole heart,
with fasting, and weeping, and mourning;
Rend your hearts, not your garments,
and return to the Lord, your God.
For gracious and merciful is he,
slow to anger, rich in kindness,
and relenting in punishment.” …
Joel 2:12-18

✝️ Ash Wednesday Prayer

God of goodness and mercy,
Hear my prayer as I begin this Lenten journey with you. Let me be honest with myself as I look into my heart and soul, noticing the times I turn away from you. Guide me as I humbly seek to repent and return to your love. May humility guide my efforts to be reconciled with you and live forever in your abundant grace. Transform me this Lent, heavenly Father. Give me the strength to make myself 100% available to you every day as I prepare for Easter.
Amen.

✝️ Need help in discerning what to give up and take up? Ask the Holy Spirt. Holy Spirit, what will draw me closer to Jesus this Lenten season? How can I be more Christ-like? What areas of my heart still need healing and the loving and merciful presence of the Lord?

😂❤️ I asked the Lord to give me a creative line because I couldn’t think of one and this is what He gave me… Roses are red, violets are blue, Be my Valentine; and perhaps martyrs too 🥰
All glory to God 🙌 Jesus is Brilliant!! I love Him!!
Happy St. Valentine’s Day everyone!

Here’s a little history:
💘Saint Valentine is a 3rd-century Roman martyr celebrated on February 14th, recognized as the patron saint of love, marriages, and young people. As a bishop of Terni, Valentine was imprisoned for defying Emperor Claudius Il’s ban on marriages and ministering to Christians. When Claudius discovered Bishop Valentine’s unwavering faith and support of Christians, he was beaten with clubs and beheaded on February 14, around 270 AD.

St. Valentine, pray for us 🙏

💐Patron Saint of love, holy matrimony, engaged couples, beekeepers, people with epilepsy, plague victims, fainting, and travelers.

🛡️ What is martyrdom?
Catechism of the Catholic Church,
Paragraph: 2473 Martyrdom is the supreme witness given to the truth of the faith: it means bearing witness even unto death. The martyr bears witness to Christ who died and rose, to whom he is united by charity. He bears witness to the truth of the faith and of Christian doctrine. He endures death through an act of fortitude. “Let me become the food of the beasts, through whom it will be given me to reach God.” 271

Quote by Saint Ignatius of Antioch

😎 Here’s a few fun facts:
The name Valentine (Latin: Valentinus) is derived from the Latin word valens, which translates to “strong,” “worthy,” or “powerful”.

The name is largely tied to Saint Valentine, a 3rd-century bishop martyred by Emperor Claudius II.

“Valentine” Usage: The term came to mean a chosen sweetheart in the 15th century and a greeting card by the 19th century. by @catholic_truth

🙌 Today is the Octave of Christmas, the Solemnity of Mary – the Holy Mother of God, and the World Day of Peace. As we remember the ancient blessing God gave the Israelites, may we be reminded of the Incarnation. For through the Incarnation of the Son of God through Mary His Mother, the peace that the world cannot give begins to be among us. Mary’s “sorrowing heart was enlarged to make room for all men and women, whether good or bad,” she offers “her maternal affection to each and every person… a source of hope and true joy.”

🥳 Happy New Year everyone!

No better way to start 2026 than going to Mass to honor our most beautiful Mother 🌹 Jesus gave himself to be cared for in the arms of Mary and Joseph. We certainly can do the same with our lives.

May the blessings of the Lord be poured upon you and your families this new year and may the loving embrace and guidance of Mary be a source of comfort and peace in your homes.

“I long to fly to Mary’s mother arms, To rest upon that spotless throne of bliss; And, sheltered there from troubles and alarms, For the first time to feel her gentle kiss.”
– Poetry of St. Therese of Lisieux 🕊️ by @catholic_truth

🔔 Behold the Word of God! Jesus Christ, the Son of God! Emmanuel (God with us). The Lord. Messiah. Savior. Lamb of God. The Good Shepherd. The Light of the world. The Bread of life. The King of kings and Lord of lords. The Prince of Peace. The Alpha and the Omega – God!

Who could have imagined such grand titles for a tiny baby boy, wrapped in swaddling clothes, humbly resting in a manger, with his mother Mary and foster father Joseph caring for him by his side?

🙌 Only God.

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
–John 3:16 RSV-SB

💐Happy Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary 💐
The Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, celebrated on October 7th, honors the victory of Christian forces at the Battle of Lepanto in 1571. Pope Pius V attributed this triumph to the intercession of the Virgin Mary through the Rosary, and in gratitude, established the feast in 1573. The day celebrates the power of prayer and Mary’s role as a spiritual protector.
•
Pope Leo asked Catholics to pray the rosary every day for peace the month of October. 7 days in and the invitation is still open to everyone! Need help along the way? Learn about the rosary and how to pray it by checking out the following apps:

• Mary app by Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception

• The Hallow app

🙏 I learned it by praying it alongside Mother Angelica and the nuns on EWTN. You can join them as well by searching for “Holy Rosary with Mother Angelica” on YouTube. #HighlyRecommended :) by @catholic_truth

🙏⚔️🛡️⚔️ 🙏The Catholic Church’s victory over the Ottoman Empire is linked to the Battle of Lepanto in 1571, where the Holy League, a coalition of Catholic states, defeated the Ottoman fleet. Pope Pius V had called for a month of prayer and fasting, urging Catholics to pray the Rosary for divine intervention. The victory was attributed to the intercession of the Virgin Mary, and the Pope declared October 7th as the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary to commemorate the triumph. This event solidified the Rosary as a powerful spiritual weapon in Catholic devotion, associating it with divine protection and victory over the Ottoman threat.

💐 HAPPY FEAST OF OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY!
