So I recently discovered something very interesting about myself, and I’d like to share it with all of you!

For those of you who’ve known me for a long time, you’ll know that I love sunflowers. They’ve been my favorite flowers since I was a little girl, and every year on my birthday, it’s tradition for my father to buy me a bouquet of flowers, which always has a sunflower in it. For my senior photoshoot (which sadly never happened), we even talked about me posing in an entire field of sunflowers.

I never knew why I loved them so much. I always felt a sort of spiritual connection with them, and they always brought me great joy when I saw them.

Until, that is, today.

Yesterday, I received the results of a DNA test which I got as a Christmas present from my father, and the results proved to be surprising for me; according to the test, I am 19% Ukrainian.

According to AncestryDNA, this is common in those with Hungarian ancestry, which I have, as my grandfather was Hungarian. This is because many of the countries that comprise Central and Eastern Europe are small, and close together, and thus share many parts of each other’s cultures and languages.

And it was today, when I began looking into Ukraine, that I discovered what I will now tell you.

The national flower of Ukraine is deeply engrained in Ukrainian culture, and is frequently seen in Ukrainian clothing, art, and even furniture. They are the top producers and exporters of this flower’s oil and seeds, and in rural areas, this flower is central to their economy. It is a symbol of warmth, peace, loyalty, and, since the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, of strength and resistance.

What is this flower? It is, of course, the sunflower!

My great-grandmother was fond of saying, “The blood always knows.” This discovery is single-handedly responsible for proving this statement. Even before I knew this about myself, I loved sunflowers. And now, I love them even more.

Welcome back to the second part of my attempt at r/chocolatewooyu’s Sims 4 Teen Mom Challenge! This was actually filmed last night, so no new content until probably tomorrow or the day after—I’ve had some minor personal issues and I also have to do some stuff for college. Everything should turn out alright, but prayers are still appreciated!

Please go ahead and watch the original video as well!
