Cathouse Prophet - Smoky Mountain Harley-Davidson - The Shed Smokehouse & Juke Joint

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Over the years I have met some amazing folks at Smoky Mountain Harley-Davidson and The Shed Smokehouse & Juke Joint. Joe Ely was certainly at the top of my list. Aside from being a great talent he was an even greater guy. One of my favorite nights was listening to him tell the most incredible stories from his life’s experiences. He was so generous. I am so grateful to have met him and had the opportunity to get to know about his life’s adventures. Thank you Joe Ely for the great music and the great memory you left me with. by @cathouseprophet

I was blessed to have a group of HD Sr leadership come to Smoky Mtn HD to start their trip to Daytona. I had an incredible day of riding through the Smoky mtns on our way to SC for the night. It’s always a great day when I get to spend it with my HD family and friends. by @cathouseprophet

The mandolin on the left belongs to Marty Sturart, the first time he played The Shed Smokehouse & Juke Joint he handed it to me and told me story about how John Cash scratched a cross on it in his absence and without his consent. That incident led Marty ask other musical hero’s to scratch their name on his most prized instrument. That story led me to hand my 67 J45 to Billy Joe Shaver after his first Shed performance and ask if he would carve his name on it, Billy obliged. Since then I have had a number of The Shed Smokehouse & Juke Joint performers to do the same. I just restrung it and have been sitting here admiring how good it sounds and looks. Thank you JRC for scratching that cross on Marty’s gibson, and thank you Marty for sharing the story with me, and a big thanks to all those that have given The Shed such memorable shows and me such a damn fine guitar. by @cathouseprophet
