Fresh vs. Healed side by side comparison. Here you can see an example of how some tones settle in the skin. Black and grey that photographs super well fresh, doesn’t always hold up once lived in. Sometimes when layering pigment or packing washes, swelling can make things look muddy or “too dark”. Trust the process! The end result is more important than the Instagram post. With black and grey, I usually request a healed photo a month following your appointment, to see if there are any touch ups or contrast adjustments that can be made. Touch ups are free within the first 6 months, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any inquiries regarding your black and grey tattoo. *SOLD* My contribution to the upcoming “Birds & Blossoms” show @porchlighttattoo @porchlightgallery this February 27th. I decided to keep it simple this year, however I did do a fair amount of experimenting. This is my “take two”, mixed media with a number of different layers. I used watercolour, pencil crayon, acrylic gouache, golden soft gel and liquitex matte varnish. I had a ton of fun messing around with paint again and I feel motivated to keep at it. I’m absolutely blown away by some of the other submissions and I can’t wait to see them all in person! This lil’ lady was tricky to photograph so feel free to swing on by and take a little peek and say “Hi”. Thanks for looking. 👀
