Thought I’d reintroduce myself. I’m Catrin, living in Ramsgate, originally from Wiltshire.

I’ve also lived in Leeds, Bristol and London.

I’m inspired by my love of music, movement, visual art and literature and exploring ways to cross them over in interesting and exciting ways.

In my spare time, I spend time with my Bedlington Whippet Mabel. Sea swimming, running, listening to vinyl, reading and sewing.

Thanks for following my journey. by @catrinosborne

Nearly one year since I published my book A Portrait of the Menopause.

This book arose from my own difficult experiences and the need to give voice to women’s unspoken and sometimes unexpected journeys.

Over 5 years, I travelled across the country, photographing women from all walks of life, asking what the menopause means to them.

All too often menopause is misunderstood by doctors and society. The women in the book share their first-hand accounts of physical and mental symptoms, of shame and isolation, but also of discovery, strength and newfound freedom.

The result is a book that acknowledges their experiences and brings with it a sense of purpose - by talking openly about the menopause now, hopefully the next generation won’t suffer in silence too.

Thank you to my publishers @blackdogpress for trusting in my idea and bringing it to life. And thank you to all the Women who gave their permission to share their experiences.

The book is now available to buy on @blackwellbooks and @amazonuk - follow the link in my bio to buy your copy 🔗 by @catrinosborne
