In the name of curiosity and STEAM, I’m trying to say yes more 😅

Yes to more mess, yes to more inconvenience, yes to less time away from my to do list but most importantly yes to helping them create, build, experiment and learn.

These experiments take a lot of trial and error and I always have them try it themselves first before stepping in. They’re learning their plans don’t always go accordingly, how to solve problems, how to ask for help, and usually have a lot of fun building them out, minus the tears of frustration 🥺😅 by @catrosewood

Parenting often feels like living life in hard mode constantly, but there are just some moments that break through that grind.

Could not have been more proud of Miles today. Often quick to give up or complain on long walks/hikes, he had this determination to complete this 8 mile hike today and did it without complaining. He was the youngest in our hiking group by double his age and I am so beat. I would’ve turned back half way, but he wanted to go all the way to the top.

As I reflect on this moment after a long and grueling day, I’m reminded that God, as my Heavenly Father also sees me with tender affection, joyfully proud that I am His child. 😭

I was not prepared to see my 3 boys have such a soft spot for their baby sister. So many “but I love her” explanations when having to refrain them from hugging too tight, always melts my heart 🥹 I’m totally loving the age gap and seeing my older kids love and enjoy their baby.

Starting solids can be so stressful but watching her play, explore and begin to eat has been so rewarding. The diaper changes on the other hand…😖

You’d think a fourth time mom should be better prepared but I am totally not, so baby girl had to eat what we ate some days. I promise we tried to wipe as much salt off on the fries!! Also, gagging is also never easy to watch and it’s so scary to see them struggle a bit. Baby-led weaning doesn’t mean baby can eat independently, so I have to keep a close watch to make sure she’s not taking too big of a bite or make sure the food is super soft. I’m super grateful she seems to really enjoy solids so far! by @catrosewood

What a typical Tuesday looks like for us! It’s our busiest day of the week!

We started the day with Classical Conversations (CC), our homeschool curriculum and community group. In addition to practicing our memory work, we had a science experiment on our lung capacity and learned and drew our own abstract art! For presentations today, Miles solved the Rubik’s cube, Zach shared his new stuffies and Logan shared his brownies he solo-baked for the first time (from the box) with his classmates!

After we got home, I took off for a haircut and Jon did some schoolwork with them.

We had an early dinner and then off to basketball practice we went! Usually Miles and Logan are at the same park and Zach is at a different location, but we made it easier on ourselves to just have Zach practice with Miles today 😅

We ended the day reading dad jokes, which Logan and Miles are super into these days, though I have to explain most of them 🤣🤣 and read the Bible before bed! What a day! 🥱 by @catrosewood

It’s definitely a new season of life for our family! With all 3 boys in their own teams, what day of the week are we not practicing basketball? 🤣 This Sunday was our first Sunday with all 3 boys in their own game and somehow we made it work! 🥱 I’m sure this is some of your guys’ normal but this was such a sweet moment so had to document it! It’s going to be busy, but we’re so excited to watch each of them learn, grow, compete, and have fun doing something they love 😍🏀🥳 by @catrosewood

Moms need playdates too!! We sacrificed sleep to ditch the kids and beat the heat to walk to get coffee. Not all of us are moms or in our late 30s but we all wanted accountability to exercise 🫡 What better motivation than getting good coffee at a cute coffee shop!

I did not expect to get so emotional at our boys’ first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition 🥹 I think it was a combination of all their hard work training and taking extra lessons to prep for it and seeing them scared but push through on the mat during their matches. I felt so nervous and anxious for them and also so proud. I’m so thankful for our BJJ community and all the friends we trained with to get to today. I also felt so loved my siblings and their families came out to support them!

Even though we took some L’s and didn’t place, the true reward was working hard with their friends and gaining confidence and skills by challenging themselves to do hard things. It was such an exhilarating and emotional experience! by @catrosewood
