Another work doodle- kiddos were doing star testing so I couldn’t help them except for answering questions about their writing prompts so I had the chance to draw while they tested.

I’ve missed doing traditional art and even though I love having colour and improving my rendering- I feel that my art has been too stiff and rigid so I’m leaning into being more flexible with my style and really leaning into the stylized character art rather than a more semi-realistic approach and it was been so nice to change it up a bit.

I do have several art collabs and art trades I am working on behind the scenes in my usual digital full render “serious” art mode (you all know who you are hehe) but for now it’s fun to be more relaxed when I’m able and when the opportunity presents itself ✨

Anyway~ here’s younger Irene if she still has her wings

Mix of old and new sketches I’ve done at work- maybe I should post more of these because I end up doing a lot of them when I have a moment at work haha

Life update if you’re curious as to my absence:

I have been dealing with insane burn out and financial stress so I haven’t been able to do much art at all. I have a TON of ideas and things I want to do and finish but this year has been tough on me creatively and artistically.

While my mental heath has drastically improved and my living situation has been amazing this year compared to years past, I’ve been dealing with so many aspects of adult life that have taken priority over almost everything else. I’m working full time and have a second job on the weekends a few times a month and I’m going to school so I can hopefully graduate by next spring. That along with working through my health and figuring out how to manage my symptoms for my chronic illnesses, home and yard maintenance, spider infestations and a neighbor who keeps reporting us to the city for not cleaning our yard fast enough, I’ve been exhausted.

I hope to get back to posting and drawing more regularly but it’s difficult to say when I’ll be back like before. I want to open up commissions on VGen, and doing more with all my wonder art moots but I’m stacked with life responsibilities.

I DO however have some collabs I’ve been working on that I will be finishing up soon and they have been a GODSEND because it’s helping me get those creative juices flowing again.

In the meantime- send me some music that inspires you or that you like to listen to while drawing cause I need to freshen up my playlist! 🎶🎵

Thank you to all my wonderful friends and art moots for checking in on me and wishing me the best. You all are so amazing and I’m always grateful for your kindness 💖💖

Another art fight attack this time featuring two of @violetruuu ‘s characters!
I have been wanting to make some darker moodier pieces lately so of course I had to follow tradition and draw my favorite assassin Dax for art fight again this year. This time with his boss hehe I had a lot of fun drawing them!

I have others I’m working on so stay tuned!

One of the first attacks for art fight this year for @thornbudart featuring their character, Briar 💜🩷💜

This year I’m practicing composition, lighting and storytelling in my attacks and some of that may include a little animation because I want to learn and practice.

Happy Art fight!

ART FIGHT!

After a lot of internal debate I decided that I am going to join this year again. Even though I don’t have the characters I want on there yet I think it will still be fun to get out of my bubble and try new things and meet new people and see some awesome characters!

Let me know if you’re joining this year and drop your users down below so I can attack you! 😈💖

Happy art fight!

Meant to post this back in May but forgot to. Anywayyyyy~ here is an illustration gift I made for one of my coworkers as a celebratory end of year “we did it!” Gift! She requested a dragon and a little gnome and she loves books and Sunflowers so ofc I had to add those.

I ended up getting it printed so she could use it as a poster in her classroom next school year if she wanted 🥰

I’ve been stuck in a huge rut creatively lately and I haven’t drawn as much as I would like to but I’m trying to power through. Hopefully I’ll be able to draw more soon!

Let me know what you think!

I main a Zibai Geo team so it’s only natural I wanted to create my own Geo character that would be on her team so here is XiaoJin! My golden girl 💛🧡

Please go check out all the amazing artists who also participated! Everyone’s characters turned out awesome!
