POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We just hit the studio to keep tracking for two songs we started last year! Stoked to share some new tunes with you soon! Hope everyone is having an ok winter and hanging in there. Every moment you spend off social media, every time you choose human connection, every time you stand up for your friends, neighbors, and community, and every moment you spend creating something is an act of resistance. If you are a POC, a trans person, a queer person, an immigrant, someone with a disability, someone neurodivergent, remember that just existing is an act of resistance, and your joy is an even stronger form of resistance and should be protected at all costs.

Love you all! Hang in there 💖

Had our first band practice in a long time and I (Whitney) got to sit and play guitar 🎸 which was a bit different but still enjoyable and awesome!! I still am not at the point where I can bear weight, aka play standing. Im still dealing with nerve pain and issues. But I’m okay, and I’m learning a lot about trying to do stuff despite pain and setbacks. Playing music right now brings me so much joy, I’m so excited for things to come; when we decide to play shows again I will make a post about it (my hope is before end of year!) Until then go see Oli and Erik’s projects @theehobby @harbor.day @corduroypantz I’ll try and post their shows this month! Thank you for all the sweet messages in the meantime. ❤️ by @catvalleyband

Please join us in wishing the great Eric a very happy birthday today! @eric.l.anderson is a prolific drummer, guitarist and bassist and in several bands including @theehobby and @harbor.day they actually started on bass and love to compose, write, and record music. We are so lucky to have them in the band, Eric is such a great collaborator; it’s very fun and special to be able to play and write music with them. Eric we are wishing you cake and spaghetti bread bowls for your enjoyment! May this next year be filled with even more music and fun times! by @catvalleyband

Happy birthday to the cutest nicest toughest most talented bb we could ask for!

Fun facts about Whit: When we first met she was casually wearing a tutu as an audience member at a show, and one year for Halloween she dressed up as Elton John in a white suit with tails and learned a bunch of Elton John songs on piano and played them all night to complete the costume.

Did you know that Whit is also amazing at piano and harp? Check out her @hoovesandbeak album Monster. 🤩

Please go sing Celine Dion at karaoke or cover Celine Dion and send us a vid in Whitney's honor!

Landlord is out today!!!! We are continuing to boycott Spotify but it is up on all other streaming platforms and our bandcamp. Link in bio.

It was so wonderful to work with the amazing @ssspacemoth on this track, she brought so many excellent production and audio skills and fresh ideas to the recording and mix! This track was mastered by @shibusasound and the amazing barbie dream house art is by @quispy.art

We hope this track gives you catharsis. Unfortunately the only made up lyric is the dog and Malibu, everything else is a real story from real landlords our friends and us have had.

Thanks everyone for all the kind words. Whitney is experiencing some health issues and we'll be taking a break from shows while she recovers. Her life is not in danger. Send her lots of love!

We recorded two more singles with Maryam, keep an eye out for more releases!

Much love,
Cat Valley

We are devastated to have to cancel our ten year anniversary show. Whitney is in the ER after both her legs suddenly went numb today. Numbness is obviously very serious and we don't know what's wrong or if playing the show could cause permanent damage, so we are cancelling the show. We hope to reschedule once we know what's wrong. Send her lots of love! And stay safe out there, we love you! by @catvalleyband

Abby and I have been in a band for ten-years now, which means CELEBRATION TIME!! So we've decided to throw a mini-fest fundraiser, also on August 8th, for our #1 practice space and venue: @make.shiftartspace Art Gallery in Bellingham WA. "Live Long and Prosper Fest" will feature some of our favorite local acts: @lemonboyband @trashsoundconglomerate @creature_party_band ! So if you want to celebrate ten years of rocking out with us, then come hang out with us August 8th at Make.Shift!

The Origin Story: Abby and I met in 2016, and Abby played a show at Whitney's House on Garden St. They both played their own singer-songwriter stuff, Abby on guitar and Whitney on Harp. They were very intimidated of each other and nervous. Eventually one of them (I can't remember who?!?!) got up the nerve to ask each other to "jam". Little did they know that that was the beginning of CAT VALLEY. AND THEY HAVE BEEN WRITING TOGETHER EVER SINCE <3 ❤️❤️❤️ taken in Make.Shift by @catvalleyband
