A blooming butterfly 🦋💙💫

I once took a step onto a stage without even knowing what it meant…just a little girl in a gown, guided by curiosity and a quiet dream. No pressure, no expectations, just heart.

I didn’t know then that it would become the beginning of a journey that would shape every part of who I am becoming.

This royal blue vision, brought to life by Chico Estiva, is more than a gown, it’s a tribute to her. To the little girl who didn’t always feel enough, who had moments of doubt, but still chose to show up anyway. To the quiet courage it takes to believe in yourself, even when you don’t fully understand how.

As I walk today, I carry her with me, the girl who simply tried, and the woman who now understands how powerful that was. Because sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is to keep going…even when you’re unsure, even when it’s hard, even when no one sees.

Like a reflection slowly coming into focus, I am learning to embrace every part of me. The growth, the setbacks, the becoming.

And if you’ve ever felt like you were still finding your place, still learning your worth, still growing into who you’re meant to be…then you understand this journey.

A rewind all the way to October 2023, when I was 16 and Truckabataan was nothing more than an idea we were trying to bring to life.

I was part of the journey from the very beginning. From the hackathon where we imagined its look and identity, to developing its guidelines and safety measures in 2024, to finally seeing it launch later that year.

I still remember seeing the finished truck and recognizing pieces of what we had imagined: the San Juanico Bridge connecting Samar and Southern Leyte, the youth-centered design, and eventually, the name Truck Kabataan itself.

What started as ideas, sketches, and conversations became a real mobile health facility bringing free healthcare, consultations, and health education closer to young people.
The truck has been serving communities since then, but coming back now for one of its bigger medical missions felt different.

Because this time, I got to experience it not as the girl helping build the concept, but as a peer educator helping make it happen. Health discussions. Guiding the kids through the different stations. Talking, listening, learning, and hopefully making the space feel a little more welcoming.

To see something I once helped imagine now reaching the very young people it was created for is a kind of full-circle moment I will always be grateful for. And it was especially meaningful to show up simply as a peer. Listening, learning, sharing, and hopefully leaving a little light wherever I could.
