They call it Masterpiece Chicken, or Dao Kou Shou Ji… and more New Yorkers need to know about it. This 300-year old recipe had @jaekicho salivating, and vowing to help the owners find an audience. Shouts out to @samuel.w.kim.9 for hitting the link in bio and putting us on. 🤜🏼🤛🏼

i’m still thinking about this chicken 😮‍💨

the masterpiece chicken at cauldron chicken is easily one of the most tender chickens i’ve ever had. they fry it first and then boil it with their blend of spices, which gives it this insane texture where it literally falls off the bone while still staying juicy.

honestly i can see why this is viral and people keep coming back for this… everything just works.

also have to shout out the staff because they were so welcoming

and the value?? for around $28-$30 you get a whole chicken, 2 sides, and 2 drinks. easily enough for two people to share.

i’ll be craving this very often 😅🍗

The chicken here lives rent free in my head 🤤

@cauldronchicken serves a traditional Chinese street food style chicken called Dan Kou Ji (literally “street corner” chicken). It’s a whole chicken that’s braised for hours until the meat is infused with flavor and falling off the bones.

Believe me, it’s SO good. The meat is so tender that they give you a pair of gloves so you can just tear it apart and eat it with your hands.

The whole chicken combo also comes with two sides (the fried rice and green beans are so good!) and two drinks - such a great deal for $29.99.

Get there early because there’s only a few tables and they fill up quickly!

Chicken chicken bo bicken fee fi fo ficken, chickennnn.

There’s a lot of debate over which style of chicken is the best and the goated @johnny.novo put me on to this spot and it really has me thinking…maybe I’ve been wrong about my chicken beliefs all along. I mean if you’ve been doing something since the 1600s you’re probably certified.

They give you these gloves so you can get down and dirty without needing 38 wet naps. Dipping directly in the spices with the red onion is the only way to play. Pair that up with the scalcake and you’re well on your way to glory.

30 bones with sides and drinks for this delicious tender hender is a heist! Get over there as soon as you can and let us know what you think…

And if you don't have anyone to go with we just started adding more users to @onthegrid.app where you can save places like this and meet other people who want to check it out too. Comment below and I'll send you the link.
