PLAYJAZZLOUD takes over the lantern-lit lounge for the night on Friday, June 26.

Jazz, soul, house, and the kind of records that pull people up to dance. @cautherley works through favorites, deep cuts, and the things you forgot you loved.

Part pre-game before the after-hours, part low-pressure way to end the week by midnight.

Intimate by design. 7 to 11pm.

Now this is a good trip. Extraordinary day of progress for psychedel!c science research, especially ibogaine. I have been making a doc about ibogaine for 10 years because it is a uniquely important and wild story, and I have witnessed miracle after miracle — I have to use that word because we have nothing else that works like it. I didn’t finish and release the movie quite yet (even though it’s already incredible) because today hadn’t happened. Thanks to the many visionaries who got us here. I want to highlight tribute to just a couple of people not standing there. Howard Lotsof who in 1962 first discovered that ibogaine cured his addiction. Dr Martin Polanco who ten years ago first noticed that it wasn’t just healing addiction but also depression, anxiety, ptsd etc and personally treated the vets standing in this press conference. Dr Nolan Williams who dared to do the science at Stanford and died before he got to benefit from it.... I cannot wait to show you this movie! The drugs work youtu.be/

Wonderful to screen our film to the USC Annenberg community and further interact with documentary and journalism undergraduate and graduate students today. Thank you Nick Ut, David Kennerly-your 50+years as photojournalists are invaluable- , LA Times and my amazing team, Julian and Judy for your generous time with the students. Finds from the iPhone roll. The place we were at plus this image captured there brought to mind Raiders of the Lost Arc. Actually just the image, the place wasn’t that Raiders after all. by @cautherley

The Vietnam War ended 50 years ago, but Huan Nguyen and many others are still reckoning with its consequences.

Director Naja Pham Lockwood breaks down a scene from her short documentary “On Healing Land, Birds Perch,” which tells the story of the three families behind “Saigon Execution,” the iconic Pulitzer-winning photograph by Eddie Adams. This film is part of the L.A. Times Short Docs series.

Digging up some pics from the camera roll. This was I believe the first day of real snow on the ground in NYC last December and got everyone out to #CentralPark. Dropping a few more in stories. by @cautherley
