Fun collab with @_artistry_affair and some fun facts I learned this day:

I love turning the ordinary into the extraordinary.
.
1 year ago I met @nonksta through @thinqi_the_king and I didn’t know she had an event design business fast forward to a few weeks ago and I’m getting a message from her saying that she’s like to work with me floral wise. Relationships are so important to nurture. Bring your full self to the scene and God will always make way for you.
.
I create for all occasions where ever I am in the world and I Love that.
.
I learned another meaning for “Kabelo’s” name which can be “an answered prayer”…
.
Some how, I don’t know how but I can hear a bit of Xhosa, I can speak it but when they speak I can somehow operate lol.
.
I’m always going to click into action when I need to and when help is needed.
.
I enjoy being of service. And I hope it shows.
.

I hope you know that you are Belo’s favorite (sorry Gigi).

Thank you so much for being there and being such a support for me.
.
You help me constantly put the pieces of my life together.
.
I’d work all those floral hours and you’re there just to keep pushing me.
.
You’re fair! And I’m spoiled lol.
.
But you have given me so much love my whole life and you love my boy with so much energy. And no matter is there or not there, I know I can always count on you.
.
When Belo was born this man was pissed he couldn’t be at the hospital because of Covid.
.
We need you!
.
So please stay strong!
.
You’ll always be my father and I’ll always try to be your joy.
.

Floral pride activation for @arturotequilaofficial for Pride Month.
.
The way I am so I love with my use of color, baby!
.
What’s really funny about this is in 2020, right before Covid, I made my first step into doing floral in Johannesburg on my own. No floral education, no impressive background, just me and gumption. And I lived in this Melville area thanks to @dranesumbizvo
.
I didn’t have nearly the experience I have now. And I still feel like I’m on the novice side. And I’m ok with that because I want to continue to learn and grow with each new project and collaboration.
.
And since then I have probably done 100+ events including weddings, installs, pop-up’s and more between Chicago and Johannesburg.
.
Just goes to show that if you keep trying, I guarantee you will not step in the same river twice (… and that’s on Disney Pocahantas).
.
Congolese and South American inspired restaurant- just the kind of fusion my heart is here for.
.
Listen! Run and go get you some tacos hunny and a nice champagne-margarita. Tell em’ “Ashley-The Florist” sent you!

It’s a real ones birthday today!

Just want you to know that our worlds would stop turning.

The walls would crumble.

And nothing and I mean nothing would get done without you being who you are to me.

I wouldn’t be able to do half of what I get done without you moving everything around for Belo and I.

And I just want to say thank you and know in your heart that we are because you are.

Talk about finding a treasure when I first started using the shea body butter 7 years ago. If you haven’t already, TAP-IN!
.
Fast forward to last Saturday in collaboration with @universeofharth there is now a beautiful new scent literally capturing the Hana Hana elevation. I am hooked. A time was had full of community,wellness and moisture!
.
Thank you so much @beanieboamah for allowing me to add flowers to “studio 7” as we commemorate 7 years of you keeping us from being ashy. But also for taking on the beauty industry for well ,all of us. Thank you for continuing to show us the story and the process from start to finish.

Prayer.
.
Order my steps, dear lord.
.
Lead me, guide me, every day!
.
Send your anointing, father I pray!
.
This never gets old!
.
Every day there’s a moment of humbling of myself, in spite of myself somedays. And everyday there’s things I wish I had done differently. Everyday I wish to expand.
.
It’s hard, facing yourself and your privilege everyday!
.
All the things that could and do go wrong, I lift to God. Because I really can’t do it alone.
.
Being able to travel to the Democratic Republic of Congo awakened so much in me that I still haven’t unpacked. It will take a lifetime.
.
In 2016, I was the first in my family to travel to South Africa and live. Here in what's left of 2023, I and my son are the first to travel to the DRC in what could be EVER or at minimum generations. What does this even mean for this African American? It means more is required and asked of me. It means I can not lapse into ways of life that do not serve the rolls that propel me forward to my destiny! It means God didn't bring me all this way to be stubborn and shy away from him. It means my way is not always the right way. It just means more!
.
But I just want to be a new creature, with new features if you feel me.
.
And having my partner and child along to stir me and ground me is something I prayed for.
.
