Cavela, an AI startup founded by Anthony Sardain, has raised $6.6 million in seed funding co-led by XYZ Venture Capital and Susa Ventures, with participation from Crossover Capital. The company automates supplier sourcing for brands, helping them navigate global manufacturing and avoid tariff-related costs. Cavela’s AI agents can analyze product specifications, identify potential suppliers in over 40 countries, and handle communications to secure pricing and lead times—cutting weeks of manual work into a matter of days. Sardain says the platform not only accelerates the sourcing process but also helps companies save an average of 35% on production costs, even below pre-tariff pricing.

We just raised $6.6M to make sourcing physical products as simple as launching an online store.

Shopify made selling easy, but manufacturing is still painful.

It takes brands 6+ months and thousands of messages with low quality factories over WhatsApp/WeChat/email to source a single product. With tariffs forcing businesses to shift their supply chains, the urgency around fixing sourcing has only intensified.

Cavela uses AI agents, a vetted network of 200,000+ factories across 40 countries, and experts on the ground to handle everything from collecting quotes to delivering orders to warehouse.

The round was co-led by Susa Ventures (Robinhood, Flexport), XYZ Venture Capital (Anduril), and with participation from Crossover VC. Other investors include Propel Venture Partners and Go Global Ventures.

Anthony Sardain is the CEO and founder of Cavela — the world’s first fully automated AI agent for product sourcing. Born to a family engaged in the materials trade, he has lived in manufacturing hubs across Asia and Latin America for over 20 years, and is now based between San Francisco and Mexico City. Prior to starting Cavela, Anthony built AI and product teams at numerous tech startups in San Francisco.

Anthony received his MSc from McGill University, where he published research building machine learning models applied to global trade.
