Turns out, the little girl who spoke Spanglish, grew up with entrepreneurial Costa Rican / Canadian parents, and had very strong opinions about all things aesthetic was justttt a designer in the making. 😉

Some things are simply in your bones. For me, it was always the way a room could make you feel, long before I knew I could turn all those little thoughts, opinions, and ideas into something real.

Introducing The Meadowlark Project. She's a special one.

We transformed what was once a small, less-than-functional kitchen (for a family of eight!) into a Tipsy Butler’s — part pantry, part speakeasy bar. By relocating the kitchen to the opposite end of the home, we created a space that works harder for this family while giving their entertaining game a serious upgrade.

A home layered with character, intention, and soul. A project that feels like a full-circle moment and a reminder that we get to do what we love, with people we love, for some of the very best humans.

And somehow, even better, we get to do it while supporting a cause close to our hearts.

What an honor it is to create spaces that tell a story, bring people together, and remind us why the environment you grow up in can shape who you become.

Because home matters.🖤

✨ The reason we’ve been quiet around here… ✨

We believe in designing homes that reflect this world’s most meaningful moments. Recently, life handed us the most important, and unexpected surprise yet: becoming adoptive parents to a beautiful baby boy with complex medical needs. 🖤

As a husband-and-wife team (and now, adoptive/nicu parents of five!) we’ve been caring for our little one while continuing to serve our amazing clients behind the scenes. We’ve spent four months of this year living and officing out of hospitals, and while it hasn’t always been easy— it’s been worth every second. This miracle is one resilient little warrior!

🤍 To our clients: thank you for trusting us while we balance family and this dream of ours.

🤍 To our followers: thank you for your patience while we’ve been quieter here.

🤍 To our incredible team, literally could NOT do this without you. Thank you for who you are, and what you do. (And for putting chicken nugget’s room together in literally fifteen hours!)

We’re ready to share more of our world again—the projects, the process, and the passion behind every space we design. Because at the end of the day, home isn’t just about beautiful interiors… it’s about the life lived inside them. 🏡 #BecauseHomeMatters taken in Flower Mound, Texas by @cavieinteriors

And thisssss, is exactly where we stood. We stood right here, in front of the vanity, and had a good cry.

We photographed the most amazing family’s charming home last week. And somewhere between our initial walkthrough, the demo, the fixtures getting delayed from Morocco, moving the kitchen from one end of the home to the other, tearing down walls (soo many walls!) and finding the most magical slabs for their entire home from Europe… we all grew together.

A million massive and micro decisions paired with the ups and downs that come with a whole-home renovation of a 90’s house with good bones tends to do that.

So after dayss of prep & photos; when our amazing client walked in her master en-suite, and @sarahlindenphotography exclaimed “that’s a wrap”… We had a good cry. Because somewhere along the way, this process changes and shapes all of us— it bonds [#traumabonds? Anyone? 🤪] us.

And sometimes for us, the most beautiful part of what we do isn’t about the pretty things, it’s actually not about the pretty things at all. It’s about the people — the families — the realllll lyfeeeee, that’s shared and experienced along the way and journeys into its next season. It is our absolute honour to be a part of their story. Because home matters. 🖤

Happy Friday! May your fall break be filled with quality time, sleeping-in, bubble baths, and as many binge-worthy shows as your heart desires.

Sharing one of our favourite and most life-changing projects ever— that ultimately (and quite miraculously) led us towards adopting our fifth little one. (A story for another time.) It just goes to show you never know what surprises are around the corner. 🖤

So much of interior design is learning to trust the process.

There’s always a phase post demo where everything feels unresolved. Pesky dust [man-glitter] begging to stay, crews diligently at work with loud tools. It feels so utterly different and undone compared to before… but there’s no going back.

Then, the glimmers of hope begin to appear as selections begin to take form; viola marble meeting glossy beige tile. Simultaneously colliding with pre-existing wall colours, red-guarded ceilings, and exposed plumbing awaiting inspection— everything in motion but not allll quite making sense yet.

But we’ve learned to trust what’s taking shape. Because we know that soon everything will be settled, refined, and reveal itself in a way that feels effortless; as if it were always meant to be like thisss.

And perhaps, just maybe, that’s why we’re so drawn to this process… because we’ve found that in a quiet, similar way it echoes His heart; His plan to make all things beautiful in time. Because the journey is never wasted. 🖤

What happens when your dream land comes with the wrong house plans? 👀

Two years in the making, this project has been one of our most rewarding undertakings.

Our clients purchased a breathtaking piece of land nestled between two peaceful streams, shaded by endless trees in a rural, undeveloped forest. The setting was serene, but the process wasn’t without obstacles. Building in untouched terrain comes with its own unique set of hurdles—anddd the property came with preexisting architectural plans that didn’t quite fit our clients’ vision.

Together, we set out to reimagine their home—determined to blend their striking mid-century modern exterior while layering in the warmth, eclectic charm, and timeless character that truly reflects who they are. Every design decision was made with care, balancing the modern lines of the architecture with textures, materials, and details that bring soul and personality to the space.

After years of patience, creativity, and problem-solving, this design tells the story of not just a house—but of our clients’ lifestyle, their land, and the blending of styles that makes it all uniquely theirs. Thissssss, THIS is what it’s all about, folks.🖤

Two fires, one feeling — cozy season is officially on. 🍁🔥

From crisp mornings on the patio to slow evenings around the table, both fireplaces are dressed for fall.

Which would you pick:
🪵 Outside with the sound of crackling wood?
🕯️ Inside with dinner and candlelight?

Scenes from our Cambridge Project. ✨

There’s something sacred about the walls we call home. They hold the laughter of family dinners, the quiet of early mornings, and the rhythm of everyday life.

This kitchen is one of our favorites: warm earthen wood tones, Taj Mahal quartzite countertops, and handcrafted Moroccan zellige tile layered in soft texture and light. It’s a space that feels both timeless and inviting—meant to be lived in, gathered around, and loved for years to come.

Cheers to making home as beautiful as the life lived inside it. 🖤
