🥹 Has a Kink for saving old furniture from landfill
✈️ Flipping furniture to take Mum to Samoa 🌺

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

If you’re the type of person who sees an ugly old dresser and immediately thinks, “I could make that look good…” I already know we’d get along.

Maybe that’s why I love doing this.

My Mum has always been the kind of person who sees the good in people too. ❤️‍🩹

She makes everyone feel special. She gives endlessly, asks for nothing, and somehow makes people feel loved even when she had her own shit going on.

When times were tough, she put on a brave face and made sure I had a roof over my head, food on the table and a reason to smile.

She’s Samoan, and she’s never been to Samoa.

So I’m flipping furniture to take her there, where my nana came from. 🇼🇸🤍

Maybe that’s what this journey is really about…

Seeing something that’s been overlooked and believing there’s still something beautiful underneath. 🌺

Because Mum has spent her whole life doing that for people.

Now it’s my turn to do something for her & also have fun while doing it! 🪑💃🏽

Follow if fun flips are your thing. 😁

I really didn’t expect to spend 5 HOURS sanding this piece… 😮‍💨

I also didn’t expect the spirit of Justin Bieber to teach me how to moonwalk mid-flip, but here we are. 🤷🏽‍♀️😅

This beauty was a freebie off FB Marketplace, and honestly, I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do with her!

But since we’re on a bit of a theme of doing something nice for my Mum, I thought… why not do something nice for the other mamas out there too?! 🥹🫶🏼

And that’s how this baby changing table came to life! 🤍

She’s listed for $700 because she’s a solid wood, handcrafted piece from the 1950s, and because A LOT of time, love and elbow grease went into bringing her back to life!

I went with a soft ivory paired with a warm walnut stain, then sealed everything with 3 coats of water-based polycrylic spray for that final finish. ✨

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this flip as much as I enjoyed making it! 🥰

See you on the next one! 🫶🏼

Take all this with a pinch of rice 🍚

Sharing my humble opinion on what tools make my flips easier! 🥹

If you'd like to know what products I use, I could also make a vid on that too and upload to YouTube? 🤷🏽‍♀️ if anyone would find that helpful.

Gatekeeping gives me an ick.. 😅✨

Anyway, Ive got another fun flip coming your way very soon! It would have been today but you know how things go...

Sanding took me 5 hours instead of 30 min, hate it when that happens.. 🤷🏽‍♀️😂

If you're new here - welcome.. 🫶🏼 My name is Caz & I'm flipping furniture to take my Samoan Mum to Samoa, she's 73 & hasn't been yet. 🌺

This Flip was probably one of my favourites so far! 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽

I was lucky to find these beauty's on Facebook marketplace in pretty good condition. ✨

& although it's apparently unfavourable to paint solid wood pieces... I'm really happy with how these turned out. 🥹

That Essex green is so rich & I really like the way it contrasts with the stained wood on the top.. 😌

Coming up this week I've got something completely different for ya.. 👀

Ya girls daring to try a different colour & furniture piece all together (it's wild out here ik ik..)

Stay chooned and I'll see ya for the next flip!

Thanks again for watching, bless ya & have a lovely week! 🥹🫶🏼✨🌺

This dresser was my first ever custom request.. 👀

The girl who bought my green nightstands reached out and asked if I could sort her out a matching dresser..

So when I found this one... I thought perfect!

And every flip still gets me a little closer to getting my Samoan mum to Samoa ❤️

Anyway, here’s the dresser that started my custom era.

Follow if cheeky flips are your thing, or raccoons, or doing nice things for your mum. 😅

Bless ya, 🫶✨

If you’re the type of person who walks past an old worn down piece of furniture and immediately starts imagining what it could become…

You’re gonna fit right in here. 🥹

And if you’ve been here for a little while, you already know this is about a little more than just furniture. 🌺

Every piece I flip is another small step towards getting my Samoan Mum to Samoa for the first time. 🇼🇸

But recently, this stopped feeling like just my little project.

It feels like ours. ✨

Sure it's been messy.. but perfection is boringggg 😅

we've had workshop evictions, shipping container transformations, random treasure finds.. 🦷👀

but most importantly, some beautiful flips that I'm really proud of.. 🥹

So if you’re still here… I'm blessed to have ya. 🙏🏼

Pull up a chair, cousin. 'Cause we got more furniture to save and a plane to catch. 🏝️🪑🌺

If you’re the kind of person who can walk past an old dresser and immediately start imagining what it could become… I think you’re going to fit right in here. 😂

Maybe that’s why I love furniture flipping so much.

I’ve always been drawn to the things other people overlook. There’s something pretty special about seeing what something could become.

My Mum is a lot like that with people. ✨

She has this beautiful way of making everyone feel welcome, seen and like they belong. She gives so much love without expecting anything back.

She’s Samoan and has never been to Samoa, so I’ve decided I’m going to take her. 🇼🇸🤍

Every piece I flip is a little step towards that.

So if you’re into old furniture, making things beautiful again, a bit of chaos and following along while I figure this whole thing out…

welcome. You’re family now. You come to Samoa too. 😂🤍
