🏔️ Herzogstand | Bavaria, Germany 🇩🇪Here are a few photos from my hike to Herzogstand. The hike offers beautiful panoramic views over Walchensee, Kochelsee, and the surrounding Bavarian Alps.I parked at the Herzogstand cable car station, where day parking costs €7. The hiking trail starts right next to the cable car station, making it a very convenient starting point. The ascent took me just under 2 hours. After reaching the top, I made the short detour to Martinskopf, which is well worth it for another great viewpoint.🥾 Distance: 12 km⛰️ Elevation gain: 950 m📍 Herzogstand📍 Martinskopf📍 Walchensee📍 Kochelsee📍 Bavaria, Germany 🇩🇪 by @cb1_chris

🏰 Neuschwanstein Castle | Bavaria, Germany 🇩🇪I've been to Neuschwanstein many times over the years and in every season, but it never gets old. No matter how often I come back, the views are always worth it.I didn't take the castle tours this time, but I've done them before, and they're definitely worth it if it's your first visit. If you're visiting Bavaria, Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau are absolute must-sees. Beyond the famous viewpoints, you'll find plenty of quieter spots around Alpsee and the surrounding forests that are just as beautiful.📍 Neuschwanstein Castle📍 Hohenschwangau📍 Alpsee📍 St. Coloman Church📍 Bavaria, Germany by @cb1_chris

Last Saturday I hiked to Seealpsee and Nebelhorn in the Allgäu Alps.I parked at the Nebelhorn cable car station in Oberstdorf and hiked up to Höfatsblick before taking the trail down to Seealpsee. Arriving at around 9 a.m., I had the lake almost entirely to myself, with only one other couple there. It was the perfect time to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and take a few photos. On my way back up to Höfatsblick, I passed more and more people heading down to the lake. By then, the area around the station was already getting busy, so the early start was definitely worth it.From Höfatsblick, I continued hiking to the Nebelhorn summit, where I was rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views across the Allgäu Alps and watched paragliders soaring above the mountains. If you're visiting Seealpsee, I'd definitely recommend going early in the morning.📍 Seealpsee📍 Nebelhorn📍 Oberstdorf📍 Allgäu, Germany 🇩🇪 by @cb1_chris

Last Sunday I hiked to Rappensee, Germany's highest and southernmost mountain lake, located at 2,047 m above sea level.I started at the Faistenoy hiking parking lot. The first part of the trail is mostly flat until you reach Schwarze Hütte. (If you want to shorten the hike, you can take the bus to Alpe Eschbach and save a few kilometers.)From Schwarze Hütte, the trail follows the Eselsweg up to Rappenseehütte, and from there it's only about a 10-minute walk to the lake.🥾 Distance: 26 km in total⛰️ Elevation gain: 1,200 m⏱️ Time: a little over 6 h (including photo stops and short breaks)Definitely a long day in the mountains, but absolutely worth it.📍 Rappensee, Allgäu Alps, Germany by @cb1_chris

Last Sunday's hike took me back to the beautiful Tannheimer Tal. Starting at the large parking area in Tannheim (€5 for the day), I first walked the little over 4 km to Vilsalpsee before following the trail on the left side of the lake towards Landsberger Hütte. The climb passes the beautiful Traualpsee before reaching the hut, which is the perfect place for a short break. From there, I continued past the Lache and up to Schochenspitze. The final ascent is definitely worth the effort, with stunning panoramic views over the surrounding peaks and alpine lakes. On the way back, I took my time to enjoy the scenery around the Lache and Traualpsee before returning to Vilsalpsee. The round trip was just under 20 km with around 1,000 m of elevation gain.📍 Vilsalpsee📍 Traualpsee📍 Landsberger Hütte📍 Lache📍 Schochenspitze by @cb1_chris

I took another trip to Königssee on Sunday. This time, I took the boat across the lake to Obersee, walked around it, made a stop at Fischunkelalm, and continued on to Röthbachfall, Germany's highest waterfall, which plunges around 470 meters down the mountainside. After spending some time at the waterfall, I headed back to Obersee, found a quiet spot by the lake, and enjoyed a picnic with a coffee while taking in the incredible views before walking back around the lake and catching the boat back to Königssee.📍 Königssee📍 Obersee📍 Fischunkelalm📍 Röthbachfall by @cb1_chris

Unterer Geisalpsee, Germany 🇩🇪✨Here are a few clips and pictures from my hike to the lower Geisalpsee in the Allgäu the weekend before last, starting from Reichenbach near Oberstdorf. The trail is around 8 km round trip with roughly 640 m of elevation gain and passes several waterfalls and streams before reaching the lake. After arriving at the lake, I found a nice spot to lie down, enjoy the sunshine and take in the views of the surrounding mountains. Definitely the perfect place for a longer break before heading back down.I also found myself stopping again and again to photograph the waterfalls and cascades along the trail.🥾 around 8 km⬆️ around 640 m elevation gain⏱️ around 3 hours📍Reichenbach📍Unterer Geisalpsee📍Allgäu📍Germany by @cb1_chris

Königssee, Germany 🇩🇪✨Started the hike at Königssee in Berchtesgadener Land and climbed up to Kührointhütte before continuing to Archenkanzel and finally Mooslahnerkopf.Definitely a long and challenging day with lots of elevation gain, but the views from Archenkanzel and especially Mooslahnerkopf made it absolutely worth it.When I reached the top of Mooslahnerkopf there were only around five other people there. The trail up isn’t marked and gets really steep towards the end, at times it felt like for every meter forward you climbed one meter up.🥾 around 17 km⬆️ about 1,300 m elevation gain⏱️ around 8 hours including breaks and photo stops📍Königssee📍Kührointhütte📍Archenkanzel📍Mooslahnerkopf📍Berchtesgadener Land, BavariaBavaria | Berchtesgadener Land | German Alps | Hiking Bavaria | Germany Trave by @cb1_chris

Capri, Italy 🇮🇹✨I spent two really beautiful days on Capri after taking the ferry over from Naples. I booked my tickets over the ferryhopper app, a one-way ticket was around 25€. I stayed in Anacapri instead of Capri itself, mainly because it was a bit cheaper. If you visit Capri, I definitely recommend taking the chairlift up to Monte Solaro. It costs 15€ return and is absolutely worth it for the views.Gardens of Augustus is another must-see spot. Entrance is 2.50€ and you get the famous view down onto Via Krupp. I walked down Via Krupp to Marina Piccola and from there all the way back up to Capri again.Close to the Gardens of Augustus is the Faraglioni viewpoint, from where you can walk to the Natural Arch. Surprisingly not that many people seem to do the walk, but it’s definitely worth it.To get around the island you can use the minibuses for 2.40€, but be prepared because they get REALLY packed 😅 You can also take taxis or just walk, which is what I mostly did.📍Monte Solaro📍Gardens of Augustus📍Via Krupp📍Marina Piccola📍Faraglioni di Capri📍Natural Arch📍AnacapriCapri Italy, Anacapri, Via Krupp, Monte Solaro, Faraglioni di Capri, Marina Piccola, Gardens of Augustus, Natural Arch Capri, Capri travel, Amalfi Coast, Italy travel, Mediterranean views, Capri island, Italian summer, coastal views by @cb1_chris

Naples, Italy 🇮🇹✨Spent a few days in Naples, took a day trip to Pompeii and up to Mount Vesuvius before going over to Capri.Mostly just walked around the city, explored random streets, viewpoints and took way too many pictures 😅What I liked most about Naples was that it feels very real and not polished at all.I also did the Napoli Sotterranea tour through the old underground aqueducts, which was definitely worth it. Some parts of the tour go through very narrow tunnels where you have to walk sideways though, so probably not ideal if you don’t like tight spaces.I also visited Palazzo Reale, Castel Sant’Elmo, which probably has the best view over Naples, and countless churches. On the first Sunday of the month, places like Palazzo Reale, Castel Sant’Elmo and a few other places are free to enter.I also checked out Palazzo Mannajuolo and Palazzo dello Spagnolo. Both are nice photo spots, but you can only access certain areas like the staircase or inner courtyard, so unless you specifically want the pictures, you probably don’t need to spend too much time there.📍Quartieri Spagnoli📍Galleria Umberto I📍Napoli Sotterranea📍Palazzo Reale📍Castel Sant’Elmo📍Pompeii📍Mount VesuviusNaples Italy, Napoli, Naples travel, Naples itinerary, things to do in Naples, Naples photography, Naples street photography, Naples viewpoints, Castel Sant’Elmo, Galleria Umberto I, Quartieri Spagnoli, Palazzo Reale Napoli, Napoli Sotterranea, Naples underground, Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius by @cb1_chris
