Deadline Extended! Last chance to enter Cork's Better Buildings Awards is Friday, October 9th.

Cork's Better Buildings Awards focuses on the care and presentation of the city’s built heritage as well as the integration and enhancement of the new developments within the city. It brings together all the traders, business and building owners, both large and small, who contribute to the vibrancy and vitality of the city centre and suburbs.

This year, we have nine categories, including one new one ⬇️:

The Cork Zombie Walk is coming on Saturday, 24 October. Get your costumes ready, round up your bravest friends and join us for a family-friendly Halloween takeover.

📍 Rory Gallagher Square, The Fifth Quarter
🕟 From 4:30pm with the 96FM Street Fleet and zombie face painting
🧟 Walk starts at 6pm

The first 75 tickets are €5, then €10 per person. A food and drink voucher is included, with all proceeds supporting the Dragon of Shandon 2026.

The “Best in Heritage, Conservation & Sustainability” category in Cork’s Better Buildings Awards honours projects that skilfully preserve the city’s historical character while embracing sustainable practices.

This award recognises efforts to protect Cork’s architectural heritage through careful restoration and environmentally conscious design. It celebrates buildings that balance tradition with modern sustainability, enhancing the city’s cultural legacy.

The “Best Café/Restaurant” category in Cork's Better Buildings Awards recognises establishments that stand out for their exceptional exterior design and inviting atmosphere, and is open to new or recently renovated exteriors in the last 12 months.

This award celebrates cafés and restaurants creativity, attention to detail, and thoughtful integration with the local environment. Ultimately it honours venues that contribute positively to not only the city’s vibrant dining scene, but also improve the overall look of the street and wider cityscape.

Calling all the teetotallers who are looking for some Friday night plan, have some cozy night out. Enjoy some hot chocolate ☕️ or cocktails in your favourite cafes around cork city from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm and witness some great live performances and DJ music while enjoying your favourite food.
