Educating competent, responsible, caring, and professional nurses to serve locally, nationally, and globally.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
20 years ago, California Baptist University welcomed its first students into the nursing program. Today, the CBU College Of Nursing proudly celebrates 20 years of preparing compassionate, skilled, and purpose –driven nursing professionals.

Over the past two decades, CBU has prepared, nurses, educators, advanced practice clinicians, and leaders who serve with excellence, compassion, and purpose. More than 3300 alumni now carry that legacy forward in hospitals, clinics, classrooms, healthcare organizations and communities across the nation and beyond.

While milestones can be measured in years, the true impact of CBU Nursing is measured in the countless lives, touched along the way. Every patient cared for, every family supported, every community strengthened, and every future healthcare professional mentor reflects the ripple effect of a CBU Nursing education.

This year, we celebrate the people, stories, partnerships, and achievements that have shaped the College of Nursing over the past 20 years, while looking ahead with excitement to the future. We invite students, alumni, faculty, staff, healthcare partners, and friends of the College to join us throughout this special anniversary year as we honor our shared legacy and the lives still waiting to be impacted.

Wednesday was such a special day at our Cherish Health Fair 💜

We were honored to partner with CBU Nursing, where their incredible students came alongside our young moms to provide education, support, and encouragement on important health topics for both moms and their little ones.

From the moment our families arrived, they were welcomed with such kindness, care, and professionalism. It meant so much to see our moms feel seen, valued, and empowered with knowledge that will impact their families every day. ✨

“God created you with your unique gifts and Grace… Before you were called educator, nurse practitioner, provider or experts – you’re called each day to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength – this is our first calling.” -Dr. Mendy Nehrbass

Victoria Downs leapt into action on February 17th to help a passerby who was stopped out front of the campus, no longer breathing. The man had been a passenger in a car traveling down Magnolia when he passed out, prompting the driver to pull over at the University main entrance and call for help. While Safety Services team members were en route, College of Nursing student Victoria gave instruction in CPR and aided in chest compressions for the victim who remained unconscious. Student worker Avery Easterling and Safety Service team members coordinated care until Riverside Fire Department arrived to take over the scene, administering medicine that revived the man before transporting him to the hospital.
Director of Safety Services John Freese honored students Victoria and Avery for their exemplary actions. During a visit to the College of Nursing campus, Victoria, along with officers of the Safety Services Team were awarded a commendation for their acts of valor.
“I commend these Safety Services Team members and Victoria Downs for their calm, and coordinated response that contributed to the saving of the victim’s life. Their professionalism and care for a citizen in need glorifies God and brings honor to CBU.” – John Freese
Victoria’s quick thinking, courage, and compassion stand as a powerful testament to the character of our College of Nursing students and the profound impact one person can make in a moment of crisis. Congratulations Victoria! #cbunursing taken in CBU College of Nursing by @cbunursing
