Grab your art supplies, Life Drawing is coming to A Loft of One’s Own!

We are proudly hosting @cca_illustration ‘s Community Life Drawing night—also open to any other Bay Area artists and creatives—next Thursday, July 30th, 6-9pm.

We’ll take turns modeling for one another, so come in costume, come as yourself, or simply settle in for a cozy night of figure drawing.

Recent CCA alum Cara Juan (@craabcake) got to illustrate the poster and print materials for the upcoming Puppet Fair weekend at @fairylandca. She completed this work through the "Lemonade Stand" class in spring. 👏👏👏👏 Congratulations Cara!

Hello. This is a collection of posters from the Illustrated Poster class at the California College of the Arts.

The Morcom Rose Garden in Oakland (est. 1930) is much beloved by Oaklanders. This urban oasis is a spot to contemplate, connect with nature, rest, and exercise. In October 2025, fifty-one rose bushes at the garden were stolen or uprooted and left to die. The community has responded with new plants and funding, but the
volunteers who care for the garden are most in need of awareness and a new generation of volunteers to care for this neighborhood treasure.

Our class created a series of beautiful screenprinted posters re-introducing the garden to Oakland with a call to volunteer. These posters are drawn, designed, and printed by hand. We aim to bring some new energy to the space, bring awareness of the garden to Oakland communities, and bring joy to the volunteers who have experienced this hardship.

Students hold power as activists and community members. Our work in art and design can help shape the future of a city. Cities need our help right now - here's a concrete way to make life better for the people who live in them.

This project is funded by an endowment gift to support The Deborah and Kenneth Novack Creative Citizens Series at CCA, an annual series of public programs focused on creative activism.

On the night of my senior show at cca I felt the most loved, supported and blessed I ever have. It means so much to me to have graduated from CCA and if I could show my 13 and 7 year old selves (last two pics ;)) the art we still make every day, they would be so incredibly stoked ⭐️🌷💓 by @cca_illustration

Join us for the Design Division Programs Graduation Exhibition —a vibrant evening celebrating the bold, brilliant, and boundary-pushing work of graduating students across disciplines at California College of the Arts! ✨

This event will take place this Friday, May 15, from 5–8 p.m., bringing together graduating work from the BFA programs in Fashion @ccafashiondesign, Industrial Design @ccadesign_id, Interaction Design @ccaixd , Illustration @cca_illustration , and Communication Design @cca_comdesign.

In addition, the MFA Design program, @mfadesigncca, will present its Thesis Show, Silver Linings, celebrating 25 years of Design Master's education at CCA.

Explore exhibitions that reflect the depth and diversity of CCA’s student work. The evening kicks off at 5 p.m. with a DJ and refreshments that conclude with the much-anticipated live Fashion Show from our BFA Fashion seniors at 7:15 p.m., presented by CCA’s Fashion Design Program.

Senior show prep! I have so much more printing to do before next Friday, but here are some of the riso prints I’m planning to share :)

If you’re in SF on Friday, May 15th, please stop by the CCA Illustration showcase! I’m going to be showing my work alongside 30 of my incredibly talented illustration classmates, and we’ll be right down the hall from CCA’s first ever BFA Comics showcase, so it’ll be a night to remember!

I’ll also be giving out tiny bird prints at my display, so come by early if you want to grab one :) by @cca_illustration
