No One Should Go Hungry! If you or someone you know has been affected by food insecurity or the recent SNAP rollbacks, please know there are local resources ready to help.

The following YMCA locations offer community food pantries — open to anyone in need:

Thank You for Helping Us Make This Possible!

What a great day at the Soundview Family YMCA! We’re grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate the ribbon cutting and unveil our newly resurfaced basketball court.

A special thank-you to the @connecticutsun @yalenewhavenhealth and @thehoopbus for your partnership and investment in creating a space where our community can come together to play, connect, grow and thrive.

We’re excited for all the memories, friendships and opportunities that will happen on this court.

The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA is excited to welcome Nicole Brangi as our new Director of Grants and Compliance!

Nicole brings a strong background in accounting, with experience in both public accounting and private industry, including working with nonprofit organizations. She’s excited to bring her experience back to a mission-driven organization and be part of the YMCA community.

Outside of work, Nicole loves cooking, spending time outdoors, traveling, and learning new things. She lives in East Haven with her daughter, Olivia, her partner, Jason, and their dog, Koda.

Nicole is excited to join the YMCA team and looks forward to meeting everyone and being part of the work that makes a difference in our community.

The Y isn’t just part of Diana’s work life, it’s become part of her family’s story, too.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, meet Diana Dela Rosa, Human Resources/Payroll Coordinator at the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA. A proud Mexican American, Diana carries with her the values of family, hard work, perseverance and being there for others—values she sees reflected in the Y community every day.

For the past 4.5 years, Diana has been part of the Y team, but her connection to the Y goes beyond the workplace. Her daughter has attended Camp Mountain Laurel and Camp Wepawaug, celebrated birthdays at the Soundview Family Y and Lakewood Trumbull Y, and even learned to swim at the Woodruff Family Y.

For Diana, the Y represents community, opportunity and a place where everyone can feel welcome and belong.

We’re grateful to celebrate Diana and the many ways the Y becomes part of the lives of the families we serve. 💙

Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re celebrating the incredible staff members who bring their cultures, experiences and passion for service to the Y every day.

Meet Mario Ramirez, LMSW, Senior Director of Front Entry Services at Alpha Community Services YMCA. Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico, Mario is proud of his Puerto Rican roots and the values of family, community, hard work and helping others that have shaped his journey.

For the past 12 years, Mario has found purpose in serving his community through the Y. From helping people find stability and safety to supporting the Warming Center during the coldest months, Mario knows that the work we do can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
