In the studio, with the record in his hands. Florin, the artist behind 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗺 𝗢𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗺, shares the story behind the originals:

“It’s always a special treat to release your own music on vinyl, even more so when the songs are older and you’ve almost forgotten them. That is the case with my tracks for CT022, and it’s amazing to have two fantastic remixes breathing new life into the two original tracks.

I made them roughly ten years ago, when I was starting to get more serious about multitracking full arrangements with minimal post-editing, rather than lining up short loops one after another. It’s an approach I’ve kept using ever since.

Even though it’s loop-based music, I find the arrangements more fun to do and the results more natural. The subtle variations in hardware never repeat exactly the same way, helping to keep the music interesting and engaging—something that gets lost when looping the same audio over and over.

Thanks Cosmic Tribe for the amazing release and all the support!”

Thank you, Florin, for the music and for sharing a little of the process behind it. And thanks to everyone who has listened, played, shared or picked up the record 🖤

W3 SESSION – CCO (electr), Andi Pupato (perc), Valentin Bächi (keys)

W3 is an event format for electronic jam sessions featuring artists from various music scenes, taking place monthly at Photobastei. W3 connects musicians who have never played together in this specific constelllation before, providing the audience with unique musical experiences and insights into creative processes.

ANDI PUPATO (perc)
Andi Pupato is one of Switzerland most regarded percussionists. Over the last fifteen years, he worked with top Swiss and international acts like Nik Bärtsch’s Ronin, or grammy nominated artist Andreas Vollenweider, among many others. He has an excellent reputation as a performer for live concerts and studio recordings for jazz, pop, rock, experimental music and movie soundtracks

CCO aka FLORIN BÜCHEL (electr)
Florin Büchel, better known by his artist name CCO (Contra Communem Opinionem), made the leap across the Atlantic straight to Chicago in 2008 with his first release on Mathematics Recordings, establishing himself as a prominent acid producer. Alongside productions on Silum Records, Lux Rec, or Drumpoet Community, his live sets in particular have gained cult status.

VALENTIN BÄCHI (keys)
For two decades, Valentin aka Repos has captivated audiences as a keyboardist with his tremendous feel for reduced, playful grooves—whether in his solo project "Micro Soul," with the trio "Flava Sauce," or in countless live sessions with other bands and musicians. He is and remains one of the most talented music nerds in this city. by @cco_sounds

The Universal Crush remix package is finally here, offering fresh perspectives on Melting Steine’s 2024 album. Fuga Ronto reworks Sun Puls with a hypnotic, rolling groove, while CCO adds a synth-pop edge to Front Porch Days, giving the vocal cut a new layer of brightness. Furonto Garasu shifts Glide into a more housy direction, its swing enhanced by filtered loops that keep the rhythm engaging. On the flip, Kejeblos strips Universal Crush down to its dub essence, letting the basslines breathe, and DJ Real Madrid closes things out with a playful, creative remix of Dodge, adding a touch of experimentation to the original.

Now Available via Bandcamp (link in bio), @humrecords and through the usual shops within the next weeks.

W3 - ELECTRIFIED SESSION #13

LINE-UP
Anet Zemp, Vocals, Electronics
Florin Büchel, Synthesizer, Electronics
Luca Notario, Synthesizer, Electronics

TIMETABLE
20.00 Uhr DJ Repos
21.00 Electrified Session
22.30/23.00 DJ Jazz Fischer
24.00 Ende
